If you press "K" to go to your skills & abilities and then try to switch bars with "~", staff will return to the player's back with the hand still in the holding position.

Happens after homestead patch.

Are you playing the game on a PC/Mac, or on a console?

First, I have Weapon Swap bound to the "X" key on a PC, and I have not observed an anomaly with the display of a staff while switching from one bar to another. My two sorcerers are equipped with a staff for each bar. When I switch, the staff changes in their hand. In practice, a staff is only a two-handed weapon when they use it to Block an attack or to Bash an enemy.

Second, in my experience, a player cannot swap a bar and its weapon for the other bar unless the other bar has a weapon equipped. When I unequip a weapon from a bar, the software automatically changes to the other bar unless there is also no weapon equipped for it. The bar for which a weapon was most recently equipped remains displayed, and I cannot swap to the other bar unless and until I quip a weapon for it.

PC here. You misunderstood. This only happens when trying to swap staves during "C" Stats or "K" for Skills menu.

The animation is also off when crafting something when hands are visible. After the first item is created, the prop that your character is holding will disappear.

    Hmmm.... no, I don't believe that I misunderstood. .....

Initially, I could not recall any context in which the Weapon Swapping problem you describe occurred. After thinking about it since, if memory serves, I did encounter the problem while using the Skills UI after the Homestead update. I believe that I sent an in-game "Feedback" report about it. Regardless, it subsequently stopped occurring.

Since the date of your report, February 6, the game has been patched three times. But @Karacule_Fairystar has affirmed your report on March 4 and the next patch is most likely March 6.

Consequently, I would say that it most likely was caused by one or more add-ons which would be active while (1) using the Skills UI, and/or (2) using the Inventory UI to equip weapons. I don't use any add-on that modifies Weapon Swapping or equipping weapons, but any add-on that is active in those contexts could cause a problem. For example, Master Merchant features are available at any time that the Inventory UI is in use, regardless of whether the player is using that UI to equip or un-equip weapons.

Almost every add-on that I use (about 25) had to be updated to work with the Homestead update. After upgrading the add-ons -- some more than once -- the software stopped displaying an empty hand for the PC during a Weapon Swap, along with other problems.

As to whether the animation is off while crafting, I don't recall using Weapon Swapping while using the Crafting Station UI. If you mean to say that the tool which the character is using for the work disappears after the first item is created, then that might be intended -- unless and/or until the character creates another copy of the same item, or switches to create a different item.

Again, either the same add-on that is active while using the Skills UI, or another add-on, could be active while you are using the Crafting Station UI, and that could cause the events that you describe. Of course, you can investigate that by disabling all add-ons, or at least the one(s) which seem pertinent.

Another thing to do is to exit the game entirely, then use the Launcher Option > Repair Files to ensure that the ESO installation on your computer has not been corrupted. In my experience, the Repair routine will correct any corruption that it finds, but it doesn't report whether it found any, regardless.

No, the only add-on I use is Master Merchant. Even after I disabled that one and tried the game - same happened.

I repaired the game - same.

I stand by saying: this bug was introduced with Homestead and up to this day hasn't been fixed nor acknowledged by ZOS.
This is also probably my last bug report here, as I'm totally tired and exhausted writing data that none from ZOS even reads, let alone responds.

I have also checked ALL of my bug reports I sent with /bug within the game. Not a single one had their flags marked as "resolved/looked upon/unable to reproduce/etc". ALL had their flags unchanged since the day they have been reported. Either ZOS quietly fixes them if they can or they don't bother with them at all.

Either way, I'm off and let them do their jobs they are paid for. I certainly won't be any freelance beta tester, but a mere player. If bugs go over the top, there are other games out there that I enjoy playing.

Ah! Yes. When I switch bars in combat, my staff does what it should. When I switch bars while on the skills menu or the character menu, it doesn't.

@maboleth - do you use a Destruction Staff and a Restoration Staff? I'm wondering if the different stance for the two staff types is causing the problem. I'll have to check with 2 of the same type of staff later.
