Hello everyone,

with the upcoming (maybe) temporary removal of CP points everybody who wants to help the developers has to somehow tweak his build.

I see several main differences between CP and nCP. Most obvious is ressource management. I'm going to lose about 20% regen and about 16% cost reduction, the latter being the worse loss.
I plan on going full light to gain 6% cost reduction and 8% magicka recovery. I'm going to forfeit undaunted mettle and heavy/medium armor bonus deliberately in order to ease the stress on my magicka ressource pool during fights.

I am still evaluating if I switch one of three +179 spell damage enchants for 200sth cost reduction or +169 regeneration. Probably it's going to be cost reduction, looks more effective without CP on first glance.

Another big issue is the sick power of impenetrable and the massive crit nerf on nCP campaign. All crit builds will lose up to 25% of additional crit damage and 12% crit chance. Even in CP PvP the resistant star only mitigated half the effect of elfborn/precise strikes and literally nobody had 100 points there.

Now impenetrable builds will be much more effective and actually reduce my crit modifier way below the base of 1.5 on my NB. Transmutation will be the #1 combined damage mitigation and sustain set for light armor magicka builds (except probably for sorcs who benefit less from it).

This change will also massively nerf my healing as sorc/nb and be a real issue. I will probably switch bars on my sorc and shift dark conversion from overload to front bar.

What do you do? How do you alter your builds, if you play during the test event?

    I am going to try my Sorc with lich+bsw and 1 pc choke thorn. One of my jewelry pieces already has a regain on it so I can swap around it need be. Honestly think it will run fine on paper.

    Seeing as it's a test I will just do as I always do and see how different it is.

    If ZOS make a move to CP removal over all campaigns then I will just rebuild and get new gear sets which work, adapt or die as the saying goes.

    There are plenty of players who have played on Azura long enough to understand the mechanics, I will seek them out and ask for some advice or just go back to how I was building characters pre-CP.

    Depends what class/build you are.

    Most builds will have to switch up a lot to sustain.

    Builds like stam sorc won't have to switch much, likely switch a glyph or 2, or switch food to hp/ regen food.

    Why would they need to test anything? There is already a campaign with no CP.

    FYI; Your analysis of Impen is wrong IMO.

    In no cp campaigns, crit damage is both lower and with much lower chance. So impen is actually less valuable in no cp compared to cp.

    But basically it is a completely different game. Yoj cannot modify a CP build. You need to build from scratch. If you want something OP that is.

    I think that analysis is short sighted. The overall damage mitigation from critical resistance is much higher on nCP. On both setups you can decrease the enemies crit modifier from 0.3 (2k crit resist, 8 legendary impen) up to 0.43 [0.5](3.3k crit resist, all legendary impenetrable, transmutation buff [full CP into resistant]) But on nCP Campaigns that is nearly 1/5th to 1/3rd of the damage of a critical hit from a crit setup whereas on CP Campaigns it is only 1/6th to 1/4th. So the effectiveness is a lot higher on nCP Campaigns.

    And as we will all play nCP for a week, we don't want to completely revamp our builds but tweak it with care.

    5 Kagrenack + 5 Seducer are impossible to run. You can go Kag + Lich but with no pc seducer win vs lich imho.

    My StamSorc runs with like 600 regen, but I'm guessing this will have a big impact on some of my other builds.

    We Sorcs will also have access to dark deal/convertion. So even if we run out, we can use a potion then kite the enemy target into doing something stupid while we pop this ability.

    My guess is, with no cp, fights will last a little bit longer. I don't see why we shouldn't have it on our bar for no cp.

    The way I figure it, damage and mitigation are generally 1:1 in CP matchups. That is to say that every point in CP's that increases damage against you has an equivalent point in CP's that you can use to counteract it, and vice versa.

    However cost reduction and regeneration are independent of what your opponent are using, so those are the ones I will focus on. Probably swap out my 5 heavy Soulshine for 5 heavy Magnus, swap a glyph from spell damage to cost reduction and see how it feels.

    Like everyone else I am not going to invest heavily in changing my build for only 1 week of testing.

    on one hand if they disable CP for PvP trn thry open up a door how to make pve changes without affecting pvp...
