1vXing class questions

So first of all I play on xbox and I am trying to setup my classes so that I can 1vX with the homestead update.All my friends have stopped playing eso so when I do pvp it's probably just going to be me. I was wondering what the order is for 1vXing (only magicka). I think it's currently
1.dragonknight
2.templar
3.nightblade
4.sorcerer
I currently have a dk and templar leveled up but when I read the patch notes I saw that blazing spears got a nerf so it wont be as good as it used to be but I think it still manages compared to the nightblade and sorcerer though I am not sure as to which would be better sorcerer or nightblade or if they are not viable at all for 1vX. If they aren't then I'll try to make a build that makes them fun to use while 1vXing.

Sorc is perfect for solo pvp best zerg surfers and great at 1vx because of desto ult and the burst combined with shield. They also have the mobilty to get away if things look bad.

Havent played on My dk after patch but i have High hopes but you will die more.

I'd consider the nightblade to be the only class to 1vx and still deal dmg. The sole objective of 1vx is to force 1v1 fights, which the nightblade can do at will due to their ability to drop combat/pick targets at will. Also they have the best AOE CC since it drops a players block.

Dragon knight is second, due them having talons. They can lock up enemies around them, and deal dmg to the target of their choice in melee range. Makes up for being plagued by having no mobility, and buff to dragons blood means they can go back on the offensive solo.

Sorcs are third. They do have the best mobility spell that is also a hard CC. But aside from that, the Magicka sorc needs to slot a destro staff since they lack a spam spell and steam sorc requires getting in melee range.

Templars are last. There are a few stamplars that do a great job at 1vx, but their skills aside, nothing in the Templars tool kit suggests 1vx potential. Dawn's wrath tree is mostly single target/situational, restoring light tree is support/healing based, and Aedric spear being a mostly melee range tree. The lack of mobility also means you are stuck in a "fight or die" mentality which is the opposite of 1vX. Therefore the Templars have to use bow/vampire to give them an edge.

Vampire does synergize with Templars/DK's the most; gives you dmg mitigation on low health which is where you want to be for dragons blood/BoL to be most effective, extra magicka/stamina Regen to help offset running 5heavy, mist form to add snareless mobility and a 75% dmg mitigating spell that can be used as a magicka "block".

I will make a magicka nightblade and sorc . The reason I put them in that specific order is due to some videos I watch on sorc 1vX. While looking over at some skills it seens that templar would be last now that I look at it. I'll have look up some builds and tweak them to my playstyle.

FYI you cant watch videos and roll a new character and expect to be successful, you'll be disappointed.

Takes a lot of practice and find tuning your style

The best class for 1vXing is the class you enjoy the most. Since you are going to be dying alot you might as well play the class you enjoy. In general though it's harder to 1vX on magicka builds, but it's challenging and rewarding. If you like to play range go magblade or mag sorc and if you like melee pick the other two

1vX is hard with any class, for me Dragonknight is my main solo 1vX character but again it is very hard to be successful. Takes a lot of time and practice and it will still drive you nuts sometimes even when you are rocking it!

To be decent at 1vX you just need to invest in immovable pots

You need to find potatoes. That's the backbone of all those 1vX videos you watch. Any class has great potential to 1vX, what gives you that potential is more so who your enemies are rather than what class you are.

Yeah knowing the enemy does help quite a bit I would 1v2s back when I was vr14. Though it was easier because most of the people I faced used meteor and I would reflect it. Now I hear that you cant reflect it but I'll see what I can do. Though I do think of course that some classes have a disadvantage and advantage. Since the dk doesnt have an execution ability it makes it a bit tedious to finish off one target when the group has a healer or so I would assume while sorc, nb, and templar have an executioner making it easier to go from one target to another.

You not going to 1vx on a class you never played...

You cant just copy and paste a build and be a pro, these things can take hundreds of hours, per spec.

Magicka sorc is very limited in terms of 1vX more than 2 decent players and it begins to seem impossible.

Magplar is very easy if you can learn to play it. Sorc again, very strong but harder to play.

I mostly play mag on all 4 classes (dat oceanic ping) and 1 v x with moderate success

So in terms of favourites;

1 NB
2 Sorc
3 DK
4 Temp

Effectiveness

1 Sorc
2 DK

4 NB

NB at the top of the list purely from the survival you can achieve by playing cloak with discipline and knowing when its a lost cause. You also have a few options in terms of gear that Stygan, Alch, Skoria combo used to pwn or you can go with more traditional sets magnus/sed/krags etc etc. You also have the best buffs/access to them over any class mending, berserk, wards, empower etc etc. The favourite part is the troll ability; Random conceal and cloak stuns in the middle of zergs, using Soul Assault on stam NBs/DKs/Temps/Sorcs, Agony on mounted units, crippling on random zergers then cloak off in a different direction with your speed buff while they spend time looking for you in combat unable to mount. Isolating people which is a core skill if you're going off solo is easily done with cloak. The 8% Fire staff buff has helped I just feel mNBs could have damage tweaked a few % on core skills.

Sorc is great if you are fighting lemmings, appear> drop a few heavys and a curse > streak to rock > buffs/mines/overload/mages guild proc'd shards.Use streak offensively, great stun that they don't always see coming. It's a pretty good lol if you sit in stealth cast mage light > don't proc shards>hard cast and clip with a light overload>mages fury all hits at once like a thing of beauty they pop if they aren't tanks, also achievable from invis pot if you want a fast kill. Sorc hits a lot harder than M NB so that makes them fun! Also if you are killing things quickly you are bettering your odds in these scenarios. You will see some dece numbers once you gear/champ points, just keep ward up!

DK I'm still finding my feet on Mag, however I can see from my limited samples it has the goods in terms of survive and self heals after blood buff. Dragon scales that reflect are just mint even with crushing shock going through its still a pain reflecting most projectiles. You can legit rek a bad sorc using this skill, I always thought it was a myth or rare (as I have done it on my sorc once with an overload back in the day) but they will just keep spamming shards and overloads. This skill while finding a line of sight break is amaze balls along with a stun that goes through block (think of the follow up possibilities) in Petrify/Fossilise. A free tri potion when you pop an ulti is also nothing to be sneezed at.

Temp

I'm a tanky heals so I won't comment. Sure you can tank zergs and kill the odd low CP but those builds would be boring af when you're taking your sweet to kill a NPC or wrap a 1v1 quickly in my eyes, the more aggressive mag builds which I am not master of do look impressive though also dat heal factor.
