Stam DK or Magic DK for new PvPer?

I usually play PvE , but want to start playing more PvP. I'm sold on a DK, since I know that class the best (I have sunk a bunch of PvE time into both a stam dk tank and magdk dps).

I'm looking for general advice and the advantages/disadvantages of magic vs stamina DK in PvP.

Here are my goals:
* small group/solo play (maybe arenas when it comes out)
* good balance of DPS and tankiness (able to survive a single player gank, but still do some damage)
* I'll likely spend more time in IC than Cyrodiil (not sure if that matters)

    1. Small group: MagDK. If you build right, StamDK can work just as well as MagDK but MagDK is more naturally suited to small group play. Solo play? StamDK all the way.

    2. MagDK still doesn't hit amazingly well without meteor/shattering rocks combo. Yeah some people hit high with their whips but mainly those who build damage and struggle to sustain etc.

    3. Don't think the last one matters. You could always go with both, play MagDK in group and when you feel like soloing swap to StamDK.

    MagDK is probably the harder of the 2 classes to play because even with the buffs you still have to sacrifice something, whether it's sustain, damage or whatever.

    since you used to Play stam tank you could build for Tremor/black rose tank.

    Thanks for the great advice KisoValley and BuggeX... I think I'll start with a stam dk - it sounds like its a little less squishy and easier to learn/solo play. I already have a set of black rose, and several tremorscale pieces so I should be able to put this together right away. I checked out Alcast's dragur build, which seems like a decent place to start... I'm missing a couple hulk pieces, but I do have Trainee in jewelry (robust) and weapons. So, I'll probably throw that on until I get something better.

    Do you know if homestead added black rose weapons? i.e. has anyone seen those (I'm on console)?

    I think for small (2-4) group play mDK is one of the most invaluable pieces. Aoe root in talons, decent magika aoe damage(less than mageblade), fossilize is great, the tankiness and synergy with heavy armor is suited for small group. It's helpful to have someone else with some aoe damage to capitalize on talons though. Or just slot destro back bar...

    I wouldn't run trainee anymore after the nerfs. And yes, BR has weapons, shields and jewellery (healthy jewellery though).
