Hey Guys!

I haven't played in a long time, so i am not up to date with the current builds.
I am looking for a tanky PvP Build, mostly duels and small scale.
Can anyone help me out with some builds or links?
read about blazing shield templars, mDKs and stamDKs.
whats your opinion about those and maybe links to these commonly used builds?

Are you looking for tank builds. Or dps builds that have some tankiness? I.e.: not glass cannons.

Any build needs to be tanky atm. If you dont wear a good heavy armor set + S&B and are not a ganker or mass zerg player you die. End of story.

If you want our opinion about which buil in the current meta is the best for you, i would say the one you enjoy the most. To level an alt is a piece of cake now, so try them out =)

i'd say i'm looking for a tank build, rather than a dps build.
heard that blazing shield templars are very tanky, is there any DK build that is as tanky as a templar?

Try imperial templar. I'm doing the Atlas build from Deltias Gaming. It uses 5 light though : /

might give it a try, but maybe with an Argonian.
if i remember correctly, argonians have only 9% max health increase, but also 5% increased healing and healing recieved. if that works on % max health heals and blazing shield, it could be even better than the 12% of the imperial.

Blazing shield builds are troll builds. Dont like it.

1)Redguard stam dk is the way to go I think.

Werewolf hide for ulti regen. Could also go tava's with shuffle for ulti regen. Tava's is higher regen. Werewolf has better other stats besides the 5th piece.

S&B on defense bar. S&B ulti (the spell wall morph that reflects) is your go to spam ulti.

    2H on dps bar.

Legion or fury set as second 5 piece set. Bloodspwan as monster set for defense and ulti regen.

If you have sufficient block cost reduction this is very much a permablock build. Dmg is gonna be low though...

    2) kenas magblade sap tank build. Google it.

    3) reactive magplar. Not sure how good it still works with desert rose and malubeth changes though.

Anyone who suggests blazingplar is silly. Most players, even zergs, just completely ignore blazingplars nowadays cause they've realised that it's pointless to hit them lol.

    Go redguard, imperial or argonian.

Blood spawn is probably a must with the malubeth changes. Your choice on the other sets.

So what would be your suggestion?
Stam DK, reactive Magplar or something completely different?
As i take it, Blazing Shield Templars are too tanky and do not enough damage to matter?

Blazing shield builds run around with 60-80k health, low stam, low magicka and almost no regen.

All they do is run into trains and zergs spamming blazing shield. With that much health the shields are quite large and do a fair amoint of dmg. However, in order to do dmg you need to get hit at close range.

Its good for countering eots trains/zergs. Boring af though and they have a simple counter. Either range them. Or dont attack them. And they run out of mag real fast so they are far from unkillable. Just annoying trolls.

Magika templars or magika dks are pretty good. Magika dks have pulled ahead in this patch

Probably the most fun tanky setups you could run would be a StamDK or a MagNB sap tank. Both specs have a lot of options as far as theorycrafting and gear.
    "IMO"
    Aldmeri Dominion
Bosmer Nightblade AR 32 - Altmer Templar AR 26 - Dunmer Dragonknight AR 18 - Altmer Sorcerer AR 20 - Khajiit Dragonknight AR 18
    (+3 not worth mentioning, yet)

Reactive Magplar or StamDK would be best yes. Sap tank could work as well as others, but for PVP, the only close to unkillable specs you see are reactive magplars and well built stamdks. Reactive magplar is easier to build, but stamdks built correctly can be a terror.

i've looked into some magplar und stam dk builds.
reactive magplar seems like a nice idea, but stam dks look a lot more interesting.
there seem to be a lot of different builds, though.
does anyone have a link to a good build or can point me in the right direction?
looks like high amounts of stamina, vigor, rally, igneous shield, 2h and S&B seems to be common ground?
And thank you all for helping me this far!
I really appreciate it, and it did help a lot. :)

Well the basis of a tank build for stamDK is blood spawn for sure. Malubeth was really strong too pre homestead, but after a certain group of NA players posted videos of what they could tank as stamDKs Zos finally changed Malu.

DK in general is all about it's ults. So you probably want a ult regen build. Tava is an option, so is werewolf hide. Then you can either go a damage build, such as fury, ravager or clever alch or go for even more sustain/tankiness, depending how you want to play. I know people who go for example: Tava + a second sustain set and focus all their damage on bursts once fully buffed through wrath passive/ultimates + the correct openings to go on the offensive on their 2H bar. Other tank builds run a damage set so they can kill people quicker/more consistently. It's all about playstyle.

Tava/Werewolf hide are the 2 sets I'd suggest you look into though for ult regen/sustain. Then work from there. Blackrose comes in S+B/jewellery too now, so that is another option.
