Before I invest anymore time into stamsorc how has the hurricane nerf effected your performance?

✭✭✭✭I don't personally play stam sorc, but hurricane is ridiculously strong, a 15% damage reduction isn't a game breaking change, it still gives you a unique speed buff, a passive AOE execute, aoe dot, and a cloak counter. Stam sorc will still be the best class. It wasn't hurricane that made it op. It will still have ridiculous burst damage and braindead easy sustain and mobility. Nothing has changed keep playing stam sorc It's still top tier in PvP1 -

Well yes if you are playing PvE it's best to play magicka sorc. I assumed this was about pvp because it's in the PvP section.1 -

I would just keep playing it. since you aren't running meta and are playing it just for the love of the playstyle. As long as you are having fun I would keep playing it

The biggest indirect nerfs to stam sorc were:
Unchained
Huge nerf to all stam builds sustain, no two ways around it. Stam sorc can mitigate this better than any other stam build
Heavy attacks resource return on heavy armor
Another big sustain nerf. I think, taken alone, this isn't a big deal
Crit Changes + Trap nerf
Because of the change to crit damage, builds that previously ran trap are going to have a weaker DoT and less burst than before.
Proc sets
Self explanatory
Taken alone none of them are serious, all together I think it means you need to build a bit more sustain than previously. You'll still have very strong pressure, good mobility, good sustain, good healing. You're losing a bit of burst and a bit of sustained damage from hurricane and trap and some resource sustain. Overall, the mobility allows you to overcome a lot of this with careful play. You might have to run tri-pots insead of some more nifty potion effects.
If you want to play stam I have to think Stam Sorc is the best overall class for it this patch because they can overcome the overall nerf to stamina better than the other classes.Edited by Lexxypwns on 10 February 2017 23:531 -

✭✭✭✭✭I'm going to guess hurricane increases in damage by 1 sec intervals, I'm also going to guess that the increase is also consistent throughout the duration of hurricane.
If this is true then previously hurricane increased in damage by 15% per second
If this is true Hurricane now increases damage by 10% per second.
This means the longer you have hurricane damaging an enemy, the bigger the difference you'll "notice"
Now if we put some realistic numbers in there we can have a better understanding .
Let's say the base damage of hurricane is 1000 damage per second. Before it increased by 150 dmg, and now is 100 dmg. You'll see a widdening gap of multiples of 50. Leading to a grand total of 400 dps lost over the 15 seconds.
400 dps can be big when comparing to the standard of AoE dot dps. What I mean is 400 dmg can be a lot on a scale of 1000s. Even if the average AoE DoT dps is as high as 5000 per sec per enemy, 400 is a very high percentage (in this case 8%)
But if you're playing against a human 400 dps is jack s----.0 -

All this response says is that you're a FOTM fanboi and only play whatever is current top of the food chain. Stam sorc is still one of the best for PvE and PvP, but maybe, just maybe gets outclasses by some magicka builds with the new changes so you're jumping ship.

✭The Hurricane nerf by itself wasn't huge, Hurricane's threat was never from it's damage, but from the damage it's damage could proc (Valkyn, Velidreth, Implosion, etc.) Stam sorc by itself is still in a pretty good spot, it's just that there's better options (mainly magic sorc) out there now.ＦＯＲＵＭＰＬＡＲ
