Fasalla's guile and guard

Cuddlecalf
Hello,
if I wear fasallla's guile, which applies a healing debuff if I take direct damage, and an ally, who I am guarding with the guard ability, gets attacked - does the attacker get the healing debuff, after all, the enemy is attacking me as well because of Guard?
Because fasalla's specifically states "direct attack".
Also, if I have Durok's bane, which places major defile on an attacker if causes damage to me, and I guard someone and the guarded ally gets attacked, will the major defile be applied to the attacker?

I`m playing a tank and love guarding people, and considering people don't attack me often, would you recommend I play with fasalla's, or durok's bane? I want to play with one of the two if they work with guard.

Thanks and best regards
