Racial Utlimate? Why not?

Eso already is really versatile with gear / skill / race - combunations, but why not deepen that a bit and add racial ultimates to the game? That would make builds little more interesting.

Racial ultimates would reflect each race's natural attributes, seen on previous Elder Scrolls games.

Ultimate skills would be really really powerful, but cost would be like 500 ultimate at least, or more.

My suggestions:

Altmer:
Elemental Barrier. A ground targeted barrier, that mitigates damage while dealing elemental damage to enemies that are on the target area. Similar to the cinematic trailer

Argonian:
Hardened Scales: When you take damage, you deal poison damage to attacker and absorb XX% health of the damage taken

Bosmer:
Spectral Warhouds: Summon two warhounds to fight by your side. XX% of the damage you take are transfered to Warhounds instead of you and Warhounds attacks deals XX amount of unresistable damage

Breton:
Magical blade: Conjure magic blade that deals big damage, while blocking all spells for 10 seconds

Dunmer:
Flaming feet: Ignite the flames within you. You are surrounded by flames that deals lot of damage, your attacks deals extra flame damage, and you left behind trail of flames that deals big damage.

Imperial:
Emperors Whisper: You cast Emperor's Whisper on yourself. While active, you can't be attacked within 15 meters, while any damage you take restores XX amount of health

Khajiit:
Stealthy Teleport: Vanish in stealth, teleport to target and deal big, unresistable damage, and teleport back. After teleporting, remain hidden for 3 seconds

Nord:
Block of Fury: Mitigate all form of damage for 10 seconds and stun enemies that deals melee damage while damage mitigation is active

Orc:
Wrath of Malacath: Gain CC immunity, huge physical and spell resistance, while weapon and spell damage is greatly raised

Redguard:
Light feet: Gain huge stamina regen and increase dodge change for big % for period of a time. Your attacks restore XX amount of stamina

I myself would like to see more choice of skills, that can't be accessed by other races. What do you think?

    The Imperial racial ultimate should be giant treasure chests filled with gold crashing down on any players within 15 meters of the character for 10 seconds. ;)

    They should make cass ultimates more usefull, only banner of might is used in pve as main classultimate. Nearly all other use meteor, destroulti or dawnbreaker.

    I think the problem with racial ultimates as a concept, is that they would certainly further shoehorn races into particular roles and would leave more people unsettled with the races than are now. I know a friend that is still thoroughly miffed about argonians not being a stealth race.

    I dislike race attributes so I dislike race ultimates too.
    It's sad that you can't play the race you want to play just because you loose dps or whatever.

    Because race already matters too much in ESO. Sure the game is playable regardless of what race / class combination you choose but there are obvious and substantial benefits for some.

    Can any of us move more than 10 feet in the game without tripping over half a dozen altmer sorcerers or dunmer dragon knights? Because as the damned loading screen tells us, high elves make the best spellslingers.

    If anything add an ultimate to Undaunted but I'd rather see they make the other less used more useful.

    It would be interesting if they were more flavor then a must have. I know in the single player games that Bretons have dragonskin which is a type of shield Imperials have had voice of command and dunmer had an ancestral spirit at one point. If they were not useful though no one would use them. If they were to useful then certain races might become obsolete. So my guess is that they wouldn't be that great for the game.

    Like your thinking. Racial ults are a great idea. New combat skills always shake up play a little, so as long as they're balanced there is no issue. I'd love to see new skills for other areas too - new crafting skills, for example. It's time we had more!

    Oh, and more skyshards too please

    Um how about an active ability first instead? Like Imperials have Emperor's Voice which is to calm all targets within range for 30 seconds (or something that would work in PvP as well) or Nords get battle cry making enemies fear and run away (although fear build nightblades would be out of business) or dunmers get that ancestor thing to summon an ancestor to fight with them for [x] amount of seconds. You know instead of jumping smack to ultimates let's get active abilities first.

    It would be really interesting to see racial ultimates, but I don't think they should influence the combat, for many reasons as stated above! But why not adding something fun you can only do with a particular race? I'd like to see that :smile:

    Nah weapon ultimates r enuf in that department. Racial passives alrdy have ppl p2w race change for the flavor of the month could u imagine how worse it would get wit op racial ulti's one month n nerfed the next, u kno how ZOS rolls. NO WAY!

    All race ultimates should be non damaging and all with same primary effect. Example for woodelf is heart of the Wild, call out the heart of the Wild creating a suit of armor made out of magical vines. Reduces physical damage and spell damage by x amount for 10 seconds while all who get caught in x size aoe gets snared for x amounts of seconds. Imperial heart of the empire. Infuse your armor with the fire of the dragonfires reducing both damages as primary effect ( all facials should have same duration and primate effects) while blinding rally. All enemies are blinded by dragon fire reducing thier damage by x amount and rallying ally players in proximity increasing thier damage by x amount etc etc for all other races you get the idea.

    Ummmm more skyshards LUL really... theres like 300+ skill points in the game atm anyway isn't there!? No too much bloat as is now n jus imagine after a few more dlc's its gonna b absolutely ridiculous. They need to normalize skill point gains n lessen them in a drastic way by cutting down n combining the passives in each skill line n then nerf skill point gains in skyshard collection to 5/5 per point at the bare minimum. Its gonna jus a horrible grind for alts n new players a yr or two down the road, "looking for tank for trials 760cp n 540 skill points minimum" ....no thx!

    well for starters that would be the laggiest *** ever. remember more game has to track, the more that a skill requires tracking, the more lag that is produced. as well as the cost tells you you get touched you die. you stand in a 200-250 ult, you gonna die. what the heck would you do to survive a 500 ult?

    I like the idea of ultimates, but as someone wrote above, maybe start with just a small skill tree first. The current selection of ultimates is pretty good as is, but I think we need some new class abilities to freshen things up. Either that, or a 3rd morph tier.

    Aside from your particular suggestions being massively OP, nice job :smile:

    I like the idea of a race specific ability. But an ultimate?
    It could be combat related, like all the passives, but not as powerful and unbalanced as you suggest.
    In fact, i would really appreciate a single race ability, as there are armor abilities. But with a minor impact, like...
    For a dunmer, reducing incoming flame damages by xx% for X seconds.
    For a khajiit, decreasing detection radius by X meters for Y seconds.
    For an imperial, reducing the damages of the surrounding ennemies by x% for x seconds.

    This kind of things, you know. A small impact on the gameplay, just adding a race specific element. An ultimate is way too much, in my opinion... It shouldn't be something gamebreaking.

    If the imperial race wasn't purchased, you'd have a lot more ground to stand on. Either the imperial ultimate would have to be utterly useless, or We'd see the first element of p2w.

    I would like the ultimates to be non combat related, though! Something like khajiit having an ultimate that auto unlocks a locked chest, strongbox, door etc (non functional in WGT cages). Orcs needing one less non gold temper to improve items for 1 minute. Bosmer could consume corpses out of combat to remove all negative effects on them and restore all stats to full.

    You know, fun stuff that has some use, but totally pointless in combat to prevent P2w.

    I don't understand why so many people are against racial ultis. It could bring more unique builds into game. Also every race can be viable for every build! Not maybe best but I have seen magicka builds with stamina races and they do just fine. I really don't get how some people choose race for passives instead of what they really like. I mean in end if the day those passives are not so big game changers.

    Some people are very competitive. The difference between a khajiit dragonknight and a nord dragonknight PvE DPS is most certainly big. Of course, I'm not of that mindset (about to make a bosmer DK healer lol), but if you establish a situation where racial passives, actives, and ultimates matter in combat, you're defeating your own message.

    For what it's worth, I agree with you. We should pick based on what we like. But if you are trying to top a leaderboard, you really do need to at least consider min/maxing.
