Gap closers are still broken - start over

Hi ZOS. There was a time, way back in the old days, when gap closers actually worked when they fired. Member? Actually, ever gap closer worked except for Toppling Charge. They pathed along the terrain. They didn't allow me to take flight across large empty spaces. I member. Then you went in to fix the windshield wipers and ended up breaking the transmission.

Even toppling charge, as horribly unreliable as it was, worked when it did fire.

Gap closers are slow. Gap closers are unreliable. Gap closers still need to be fixed.

    Member when you could use a gap closer on uneven terrain and didn't have to worry about being teleported under the map where you fall to your death? Member? I Member. Pepperidge Farms Remembers.

    Remember when ambush could work if the target was on a rock/ledge above you(not keep or resources). I remember that very well. Now just bugs out.

    Well tbf it would probably be easier to get it fixed if you tried rephrasing your post and what not in a less insulting way than "start over" and what not... just some friendly advice

    @ZOS_GinaBruno are we to assume that, since you've taken the time to let us know that the wolf pet and the new life festival xp thing are being looked into, but not the litany of other actually game-breaking bugs and performance issues posted here, that those things are not being worked on? Not even so much as a "hey, we are aware and this will be fixed in the next patch." Are the performance issues, connectivity issues, and overall base game performance not worth the time of the developers?

    I too "member" when ambush worked. now i have to spam it like 4 maybe 5 times for it to fire off. And when it finally does fire off I hot a lag spike upon impact and end up dead. @ZOS_GinaBruno , @ZOS_BrianWheeler Please look into Gap Closers again as they are not working as intended.

    Pretty much the feels with this is strong. I thought it was me and that I wasn't gitting gud. Good to know I'm not the only one. :open_mouth:

    That is the advice. Start over. They keep trying to modify existing animations and ended up breaking most of them or slowing them down. Ambush, Crit Rush, and others used to be fine and worked great. Really only Toppling Charge was broken and wouldn't fire 50% of the time. They should have just changed Toppling Charge entirely and just made it a new animation. There's an existing "templar-like" animation that NPC's use where they gap close from "the sky". Pretty cool looking animation and already modeled for NPCs.

    Most of the adjusted animations they created when they were working on the snare effect it was having have cause them to "get stuck" in the animation. I can macro-slice people to death with Toppling Charge now and its ridiculous. Usually I just block cancel myself out of the macro-slice because its lame as hell... but either way it shouldn't be happening.
