Play at your level and expect to die many times while you level up.

Don't know why my original post hasn't posted the full question.
Like I say I'm new to the game and would like to give PvP ago.
Should I jump in now and expect to get battered a lot or should I lvl my character up first ?
    Any tips,advice,would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

watch build videos, make sure you come to cyrodill prepared (tripots, immovability, etc), optimize your gear for cyrodill, and practice dueling to get used to pvp.

Run a stamina character. Also if you see a bunch of 80k health trollplars tethered to other characters with a stormcloud above them camping a resource, GO ANOTHER WAY.

I think the main thing that will hinder you is the lack of unlocked skills but I would not let that or anything else stop you from going into PvP. sure you will die a lot but everyone dose. You loose nothing when you die other than the time it takes to get back in the fight.

Do the tutorial they offer as you enter PvP and then buy a few siege weapons and go to a Keep on the front lines. Follow the crowd and you will soon get the hang of things and understand how the flow of PvP works.

I do highly recommend food and potions to help out and get your horse leveled up so you can keep up with others on the way to a fight. You will unlock Rapid Maneuver in the Assault skill line after the tutorial, or soon after, that will help if you are lacking on horse speed.

Go try it out you might just get addicted to a whole new aspect of the game!

Play. You will learn best by your own experience.

Block. Dodge roll. Expect to win fights only if you gang up on enemies. Watch what your opponents are doing.

    And get out the red.

It really depends if you prefer PVP to PVE.

Whille I enjoy the solo play of ESO quite a bit. But I found I don't really enjoy dungeons as a whole and I didn't really have a real reason to want to group (no friends that play not strongly attached to a guild). This is my first MMO. PVP its more like playing an FPS.

I started trueflame at 100 cp
I couldn't 1v1 anyone and got one shot all the time...Yet I found PVP to be unexpectedally fun. Doing things other than front line fighting. In fact I suggest you never fight on the front lines. Type "LFG" and hope you get a good general. The good ones are pretty great fun the bad ones just continue the Bridge or Gate meat grinder. You start doing things like running behind enemy lines to attack to force enemies away from the bridge to let your team across.

The siege engine mechanic is good for low level players, once you have a bunch of Alliance points you can use them to defend or attack keeps without having to get into the melee.
