2.6.9 We get,

New features

Mythic Aetherial Ambrosia. XP gains
Apothecary’s Parcels Able to purchase herbs and reagents with tev lar.

Alliance war issue:

Crackwood Cave ? Fixed blackscreen when falling tbough the well. ? But partially... lol smh

Big one ...

Fixed an issue that was preventing player characters with long names from receiving duel or trade requests. Wtf ?

Dungeons Direfrost Keep:

Drodda of Icereach will no longer heal herself after her Sapping Freeze spell has been broken. (Cause we all are so frustrated with that) besides the numerous issues with bugs.

(Cant forget the Hair styles and legs)

Exploration & Itemization

General
Fixed an issue where world bosses in Deshaan were occasionally granting Feet items for the Plague Doctor set. They will now instead grant Leg items for that set, as originally intended.
Fixed an issue where Runeboxes and their contents were not consistently translated in the French game client.
Changed the names of the collectibles that remove the Hair Style and Facial Hair at character create in the French and German game clients.

Great thing here:
but dont know yet how this will improve lag or bar swapping lag ?

General
Improved the memory usage of character models, significantly reducing the amount of memory they require.

Last but not least craglorn quest issue:

The Corrupted Scion in Balamath now appears when activating the switches.

I wasnt sleeping at all becuase of this.

Again im a very optimistic person, but i was really excited that maybe alot of the bugs in the bug reports where going to be fixed. Apparently not, let the meta bugged proc sets continue. (Smdh)

Smh very disappointed Zos.. again please take a look at the bug reports.

I'm not happy with the new psijic ambrosia recipe. The community had already said that there was something off about 'adding a new item to the game' just to make sure that nothing introduced in the crown crates is better than what can be crafted in the game.

I thought that they were going to rework the crown crates and communicate it with us before they rolled it out. The decision to roll out the new psjic recipe just seems like an underhand way of doing what they want.

A hotpatch that would take down the game on the weekend would generally be related to fix a major exploit before it could be abused further OR to fix a a server issue which posted a risk to game stability.

as they have not really indicated any sort of fix for an "exploit" then the only thing I can think of is that they needed to rush install the new XP recipe because the cash crates are coming this week

Whatever it was, it is likely that it was not something that we were aware of. At least, not the wider definition of "we".

Nothing in the patch notes sounds "stop, drop, and roll" urgent.

I'm with you on the new stuff. After 501 CP, then 531, 561, then reaching 600 and breaking mid-600s, the game has been so stagnant for me. With the Witch Festival, it was a nice temp break. One Tamriel, with all the newer updates, equipment, gears and weaponries, are not doing much for me. I quitted for a few, then came back when Orsinium's anniversary was up. Not sure why. Maybe the double drops in nodes and daily rewards peaked an interest. I haven't needed any gold mats for a while. I just have so many alloy, kutas, d wax, rosin and tons of gold I don't know what to do with. I am like a zombie roaming through the game doing dailies and picking up drops from nodes over and over again just trying to figure out why I am still playing this game. So, any new contents and updates are always welcomed with me, in hopes I don't abruptly flipped one somber day and just throw this game right out the window.

I would agree if the introduction of this "new stuff" wasn't directly connected to the introduction of the Crown Crates.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

Actually the few times I have seen them do a hot fix for a exploit they have mentioned whatever they were patching.

If the server is down and will only come back on when the exploit is fixed then it does no harm to say what it was.

Lol this just takes away the one leg opponents to the crown crates had to stand on. Can no longer quote an outdated support question as a broken promise.

There is no longer anything in the crown crates that can not be obtained in game. Now the only logical reason people can be mad about crown crates is because they want to be special snowflakes like all the rest, except now you can't unless you buy crown crates.

I remember one of the main reasons people were mad about crown crates were that they contained an item better than what was in game (even though was just experience, think someone was calling it pay 2 progress???)
They do not have to run anything by the community as someone earlier posted. For all we know the in game recipe could have been in the works before crown crates.

Hardly news. Everyone was expecting them to do this. They said they were going to do this. We just did not know what the final details would be.

Besides, while they can say that it is in the game, I am sure that the drop rates of the two critical components will be so infinitesimally small so as to be virtually non-existent. Especially for anyone who does not grab them before they fix the drop rate bug that is undoubtedly in there right now ZOS hopes that people will pour their efforts into watching Pacrooti toss cards out.

There are so many legs to stand on that we give spiders leg envy.
    alexkdd99 wrote: »

That is not, and never will be, true. The only reason that they are introducing the sooper dooper XP potion is because it overlaps Crown Store offerings. Anywhere there is no overlap, they don't have to make a "better" version for in-game, or any version for in-game.

Just try to get an Apex mount in the game, once the Crown Crates are introduced.

    alexkdd99 wrote: »

No, it does no harm, but that does not mean they would tell us. My feeling is that, unless we noticed it, whatever they fixed will remain a secret. If it was an exploit, someone will eventually notice it. If it was some sort of server glitch that was causing corruption, or some back-end problem, we might not notice and will never know.

They change a lot of stuff in each patch. Not just what is in the patch notes. They only include in the patch notes that which they want to mention. They are under no obligation to list every change they made in a patch. Why would they tell us everything they changed during a hotfix?

OF COURSE it was an underhanded way to just do what they want.
Now they can point to the patch notes and say 'see, no PTW, we listened' even though in spirit the new recipe will be like impossible to find and most players will totally not bother and just buy the crown store versions instead of player made ones.

We can only compare to f2p MMO's because b2p MMO's don't do this, which kinda makes this whole thing sad.

Unless there are other b2p mmorpg's doing this. I might have been out of the MMO market to long.

    No need to apologize :)
ESO is Buy-To-Play right now, but ZOS has a person working for them that is specialized in Free-To-Play transition in MMOs. Adding RNG Boxes is one of the strategies for this kind of transition. It happened in many other MMOs (MMOs where the same person was working, doing the same thing). I hope ZOS will show me they can be different, but you know how it goes... History repeats itself.

The hotfix does seem underwhelming to justify a weekend maintenance.

However, at least they added 2.6.9 at the same time and cancelled the scheduled maintenance. I suppose it could have been worse: two maintenance sessions in 3 days.

Most would have likely preferred a hotfix without an outage/ brief outage and regular maintenance on Monday.
