5x kagernac, 3x willpower, 3x anything you want
this is just to start you off with an easy crafted set so you can farm others, doesnt even have to be cp160

farm wgt for spc and then run
5x spc, 3x wp, 3x anything you want (you may want to stick with this until you have 5x ia)

farm trials for ia and then run
    5x spc, 3-4x ia, 2-3x wp/anything you want

farm vma or vdsa and then run
    5x spc, 5x ia, 1x ma/master resto

spc is the main set all healers run, wp is the strongest 2-3 piece, ia is more of an end-game content set

    goodluck!

Edited for someone who said they were new and might not know what all the abbreviations are for.
Even I don't know what the hell "ia" is supposed to be, must be healer code for something.

really depends though on how new u are... do u have any traits researched for armor? If you are crafting gear urself make sure you start researching traits as soon as possible.

    Armor of the Seducer

    (3 traits)
(2 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery

(3 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(4 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery

(5 items) Reduces the cost of your Magicka abilities by 8%.

    Magnus' Gift

    (4 traits)
(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(3 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery

(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage

(5 items) When you cast a Magicka ability, you have an 8% chance to negate that ability's cost.

these are 2 low trait sets that are pretty good ( craftable )

for non craftable ... the healing set @Nestor pointed out below me is i believe
Healers Habit which is also great ( drops in any level )

(2 items) Adds 967 Max Magicka

(3 items) Adds 129 Magicka Recovery

(4 items) Adds 129 Spell Damage

(5 items) Gain Minor Mending, increasing healing done by 8%

While Post Number Two does describe a powerful gear set, it requires farming end game content to get it. Nice goal, but lets talk about what you can wear while getting there, or the other 99% of the game.

Healers can use any gear that benefits a Caster, so Julianos, Seducer, Magnus etc. It can also benefit from one of the Healing sets that drop from Overland and Delve Bosses these days.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

i include the first set which is mostly craftables so that he'll be well built to farm the rest
you may find obtaining willpower jewelry tedious, if you are just starting i suggest simply buying the healthy versions from guild stores
shouldnt cost more than 20k which you should be able to gather from an hour or two of raw mat/nirn farming

Sometimes I wonder if people actually read posts or instead just try to prove how smart and knowledgeable they are about the game.

I mean, the OP is new to healing, and he is told to go farm Trials for "IA" gear VMA [!].

And I'm not even sure Spell Power Cure is an automatic go to PvP healing set. It's light armor, you aren't running nearly as many HoTs as PvE, and actual healing/survivability/mitgation are much more important in Cyrodiil than adding 200 odd spellpower in any event.

Seducers (a crafted set) is the easiest and most basic thing I'd experiment with before farming anything. Try it with 5 pieces of heavy. Run the atrnach stone. Put a cost reduction or magica enchantment on your jewelry. See if that basic setup gives you the surviability and resource management that works for you. I highly recommend using a sword and shield on your main bar, because the moment an enemy who know what they are doing sees you healing, you will get attacked. You dont need a restoration staff to heal as a templar.

Joy made a good point tho. New player makes a thread called, "Needing help kinda new at ESO." How are they supposed to take the tons of information you threw at them and use it? New players are nowhere near being able to farm anything, or even knowing how most of the time...

If he had said, "Just hit max level, what sets should I be wearing for endgame content," THEN you're reply is on point, lol.
