Quick and cheap Templar build

Thinking about getting back into the game. My templar was my sole vet level character. I think I might have 160 CPs? All I know is last I checked was when VR levels got removed all together and I had enough CPs for the top level gear. I just want to get into PvP; not as a 1vXer or anything more than just able to have some fun. I can craft most armors last I knew except nirn whatever it was. Any suggested builds? I would prefer to be a little tanky.

5 pieces of heavy Kragernac's Hope is still a good starting point for Templars.

    5 heavy 2 light.
    5x kags/black rose/seducer, 3x willpower, 2x torugs, and 2x valkyn is still a good choice.
I think it's the cheapest one and no additional farming needed since it's more than 1 year old build so i assume you have the gear already.
Also it feels good to not following the meta but still be competitive at some point.

Just put on any set that deals proc damage, then, put one offensive skill on your bar, the rest heals and buffs. You are now ready to pvp. In game, find a bad guy, apply buffs and block until your proc sets have kilt em. Done.

Thanks all. Have there been many balance changes? I think someone had a guide at one time to all Templar abilities. Not sure if its been updated.

Really depends on when you stopped playing. If you stopped pre-CP (Tamriel Unlimited) then a lot has changed. More than I'm willing to explain here.

Overall the idea is still the same. Magplars have a lot more versatility now though. They're actually capable of putting out decent damage while pulling good heals.

Just don't get overwhelmed when you get 1-shot proc'd by all of the stamina cheese builds out there. There's very little you can do to defend yourself against 25k instant damage.

5 heavy kagrenacs, 3-4 heavy magnus, sword and shield - dual wield or resto staff, 3 willpower (can use health or stamina). Works really well.

I picked up a jewelry set of Bloodthorns something pretty quickly for now. I had kagrenacs but 2 were light and 2 are heavy so I have been working on mining rubedite. I have 2 pieces of torugs pact when dual wielding then 2 pieces of seducer. Thinking I might try to get a belt and shoes of that Bloodthorn set in place of the seducers just for a quick fix.

Right now I'm using dual wield on an offensive bar and resto on a healing bar. Figure I can jump in as a tank healer running support until I can get better gear.

You really should be running a 5/5/2 build on at least one bar as a templar. I run 5 krag 5 soulshine and 2 skoria.

I think it's a alot more better to run sword&board on back bar. With 3 sturdy and 4 impen, and a couple dozen points in block reduction cp with defensive stance, you can pretty much perma block for a good amount of time, almost infinite with pots and repentance. Wear heavy armor ofc. Black rose would be best in slot for this. But even without black rose, it's still very viable.

Second back weapon option should be destro staff imo, for the ult. Restro is just redundant for templar, even for healing build.

Yeah; I was thinking about this but I just had the weapons alread on hand crafted.

Does it matter which destro staff these days? (Fire, ice, lightning)

You should check out Kodi's Mag Templ Build for when you want to improve your gear and play etc when you got a bit deeper into the game again and are ready to farm good gear ☺️
