Beginner Horses in PVP

Beginners in PVP are having a hard time. Not only because of skills, fitting gear or lack of talent.

Biggest issue in my eyes is that new characters in PVP have a slow horse.
Sure you can use the alliance war skill to get a little quicker but lets be honest... thats a joke!

That's why I'd like to present one small alteration to the skill Rapid Maneuver (and Morphs)
"While in Cyrodiil activating this skill will give your horse maximum speed."

Or we just make all mounts have 60 speed upgrades while (and only while) in Cyrodiil!

go and farm cyrodiils ward gear at dolmens and bosses, a 3 piece gives you 15% mount speed. with that and rapid you are fine.

Slow, untrained horse is a big part of a new toon. We've all been there, it should encourage you to move cautiously, stay in a group and/or slot Rapids. Rapids is unlocked as soon as you complete the intro quest, it's a super easy solution to your complaint. And Zenimax welcomes you to visit the Crown Store to level your mount speed in seconds.

Why should it be in from the beginning? I don't get why everyone expects everything from the beginning. it needs leveling like everything else in the game, and it takes seconds to do!

It couldn't be easier to upgrade your mount in Cyro, a port back to base each day for the upgrade. Two months and you have topped out - it will take that long to level skills and abilities and learn the game. Slow mounts never killed anyone, sure they maybe turn the tide of battle but the L10's you are talking about are unlikely to make a huge difference.

Or for a couple of quid you can upgrade via Crown store, if you are an instant gratification type.

Sorry but I agree with the above post , this was something I did I had a idea on what my next toon would be and made it and just logged in ever day to level up the mount speed until I was ready to start levelling the character

Sometimes I think back to the times, where horses were only capable to be fed up to 60 points each. So players often decided to make their PvP horse more stamina- than speed oriented, while the other ones were carry only. Now you can max out all of the stats, fortunately...

Perhaps it would be nice to have something similar to what was available at the start of this game, where you could buy various horses for different purposes and have less of that "horse-simulator" going on in Cyrodiil. But that could be problematic in terms of progression, which is an essential part of an MMO (like it or not). Also would it give an incentive to many players to hop around between factions willy nilly, we already have enough problems with opportunists.

You can use an add on to gear swap with 1 button, i recommend farming a few dolmens to get 3 cyrodiils ward jewelry. 15% + 30% from rapid + your training is fast enough.

Make your alts, train their horses.

I still remember the glorious beta PvP, with most of us running afoot, grasping at the hems of those lordly few who had aquired a mount...

Start a couple of toons, park them at a stable, train the horse for a month before you do anything with them. The only thing that keeps me from going insane.

I think the issue as i see it is that the starting mount speed is incredibly slow. You can use speed buffs, sprint, charge, and teleport faster than riding a mount for probably half the time you have to spend upgrading, which is like 30 days (assuming you can log in every day). Its very inconvenient if you want to pvp. You cant keep up with large groups, are more vulnerable to ganks, and its significantly harder to make it to a keep before a fight is over.

And a level 10 is definitely useful, if for nothing else but to fire siege.

I think they just need to raise the minimum speed of mounts to be more in line with speed buffs. Maybe turn the speed upgrades into a curve, so the first upgrades are large speed boosts while later upgrades are more deminished.

Dont get me wrong, Im all for progression, but I remember as a starting player it was hard to justify putting gold into tedious mount upgrades when I could just throw on boundless storm (before it changed) or maneuvers and sprint at 40% speed (by comparison, 40 days of mount investments seems far less intuitive as an option).

Combating the slow horse in Cyro = your right of passage into Cyro...
While I would like to see trained horses account wide instead of toon based but i think its silly to just give some one something for nothing but I still wouldn't post a forum post and nag about demanding I get something for nothing.

Also, crown store... don't take a toon into pvp with less than 30% speed or remain slow and train like most and learn to counter the gankers (always a bright side to everything)

    No.

Earn it like the rest of us. You are already scaled. You are basically given XP, loot, AP, etc.
