I have searched online and did you know there's only like maybe three builds for sorcerer healers? Why because they suck... no I think because the game changed to often in the since thieves guild.Now there are some obvious advantages of using a sorcerer healer over another class choice. Is it the best choice... no there is no best choice only the best for you so this an guide to see if this choice is for you.
Difficulty Level
In the beginning you aren't able heal using class skills or provide any support based from your class, but you can't do a dungeon till level ten so plan ahead. Also depending how how you build the class it can be quite hard to mange.
Purpose: How does this class different from any other class using the the restro staff?
The Sorcerer is more designed for tactical healing or situational based healing which is quite fun for controller. The first skill line (dark magic) allows for crowd control situations.
If the dps doesn't have aoe why not "encase" the mobs and slow them down? If you decide why flight when you can run... why not leave some some mines while you go. On to the second skill line (summoning) , no class (werewolfs don't count) can use bait of give extra bodies to the group. If your tank sucks( or is... you got the clanefer who can take the hits for the group with 30k hp) . Lets not forget the shock damage pet who shares your storm damage passives and elemental damage making it the only heal skill that does dps. .Almost forger the ult that changed, it will give a 25% damage boost too an ally who uses it's synergy. Now the third skill line (storm) ablities give the healer mobility advantage. If you like you could potentially be zoming across the larger maps stunning mobs, killing and healing along the way. This my open up the option of soling some dungeons or just simply able to reach the ally in the larger dungeon maps.
Benefits: What benefits does a group having picking a sorcerer healer over another.
Overall there's resources management for allies and themselves. Usually these healers have near 100% up time on their shields that give 10% magical regain. Which you most people won't notice but there is an significant effect. It's like using the worm set, but without it. There's also the passive ability to give allies 3% spell critical by using a something like dark deal. Due to there passives they are able to output more for less then any other class. If they wanted to they could continuously heal you they entire time and even off tank for you and crowd control. Which means dps can do riskier tasks or even in some cases forget the tank in veteran dungeons. This also leaves the options of use some sets like spell power cured to there full advantage.
Cons: What do I lose having a sorcerer healer with instead of another class.
There's are some bosses that alright kill the summoned pet (if using one). Meaning they need to use a backup or get heal from their allies. They do less dps than a nightblade healer. The only skill for stamina support "skill" they can use is (circle of protection) . Meaning this requires more communication to their group for situation to work. They can only migrate damage by using guild skill and hope people press x. Also should be aware the summon taunts some of the enemies, but a slight burden on the tank of keeping taunt away from 4 instead of 3 allies. One other obvious thing... the pet takes two slots and 1.5 secs to re-summon... meaning many trick situations, but it can be quite fun and very useful. There's also a definite skill level involved in using this class as one has to be aware of size of the map, position of allies, boss mechs along with how to communicate to your group.

Full Healer

This build situation is going be based off making your self an traditional cleric or priest(ess) in a game. For this you want to focus on potential buffs for allies and damage mitages for allies, while for yourself magic regain and cost reduction balance.
Suggested sets: Hiruce, Spell power cure, twlight remedy , twin born star
Bad sets: Seducer, worm (you got to much magick support already)
Suggested skills: twlight, harden ward
Suggest enchants: absorb magicka, spell erosion
Suggest traits: powered, decisive, precise
Healer / Dps
This isn't a dps who heals this a thought on healer who happens to dps too. You could leave the twilight out and call yourself done, but that's not fun. So such a build could use encase to slow down enemies after rooting them for a moment. Hit and run tactic by bolt escapes, place mines, heal allies and run again when they mines go off. You can act like a normal heal and throw a few mage fury at the mobs with low health so be dps who takes the scrapes which eventually would pull on the arcane well cp passive give back more magick.
Suggested set: Alexima mercy, spell power cure, healing mage set (3 pc)

Suggested skills: elemental drain
Suggest enchants: weapon damage, spell erosion,
Suggest traits: sharpened, precise
Healer / Tank
This isn't tank who heals this a thought on a healer who can tank. This build is best done by using the clanefer summon while you skill keep your light amour. You are able to buff the summon along with heal (magic or stamina spell) using spring or any other healing spell except mutgan or rapid regain. Only damage migate skills that work on it is harden ward (2 skill line for sorc) and the alliance war barrier. Note it counts as a body in healing springs (more magic) or barrier (more ult regain). All in all, it gives you advantage of having more dps output from allies and saving soul gems on tanks.
Suggested set: Alexima mercy, ebon set

Suggested skills: elemental drain
Suggest enchants: weakening enemy damage, weakening enemy resistance.
Suggest traits: defending, infused, shield, charged
