Exclusively PVP DK Tank

Hi,
I'm looking to start a character that I've never played, which is a DK as you saw from title. This tank will be used for 100% PVP. I do not care what so ever about dps. I'm looking to be the biggest sponge I can be. I'm aiming to look like those tanks you see in Pvp with 30 people stomping on him for over a minute and still not breaking a sweat. Can y'all help me with virtually every aspect as I'm clueless when it comes to DK's. Best race, best armour sets, (can be 9 trait), mundus stone, best armour/ weapon /shield traits. Enchantments aswell. I really appreciate whoever takes the time to have read this and replies. I apologize for the block of text but I'm on mobile so it's though.

Engine guardian and blackrose will circumvent the lack of stamina recovery while blocking. Fasalla Jewelry and s/b on both bars will ensure your tanking has a purpose.

Wouldn't armor master or histbark be better? Looking more for crafted sets I think.

The key to perma blocking is about resource management. Black rose is amazing for it. Armor master and hist bark do nothing for it. Hist bark is a bad set for tanking in general. The 5 piece is shuffle.

The issue with tanking in PvP is that good players will ignore you when they realize you cannot kill them. You can have a fun time in a group, tho. Especially as a mDK, you can at least use talons to root+debuff.

Oh yeah that reminds me. When you walk into a group to tank them make sure you realize when you are being effective and when you are not. Good groups will often just use you to build up ultimate before a push or regen resources.

No. Being a hard to kill is not enough in PvP. Eventually they will kill you, but you won't kill them. You have to be tanking for a group that kills the enemy players while you are CCing, debuffing and being so annoying that they can't bear not to attack you. Fasalla's will heal debuff all those players and make them go down faster.

In both those example videos, watch the other players. They are not working together. In the first, the sorc is just spamming Mage's Wrath, and in the second you have a templar jesus beaming a full health tank non-stop. :D So set your expectations accordingly: if you come across 3 or 4 good players working together, you are going down.

But it can be a lot of fun. Most of the DC players I know are already built pretty tanky so she doesn't have a real purpose. The only time I take my tank out is for trolls and lols.

Also op, look at sap tanks. You can sustain stupidly good, tank groups and actually kill people.

You sustain and stay alive by using sap essence essentially. I run Nerienth on mine. People just think you're a permablock build so don't notice their health dropping until a Nerienth proc and Soul tether puts them in dangerous range. Sap tank has a class execute which you can put on your sword and bar so you can finish off those with low health without dropping block.

You can tank as good as a DK (sustain wise but you may need to drop block now and then) do damage and heal your allies too. Sap tank is my favourite playstyle at them moment.

Search some videos. I don't have any unfortunately.

I know I will hit like a wet noodle, I have a stamplar with near 4700 wep damage, I run with my guild and the character would be for distractions while others dps. It's mainly just something for me to play around with and have fun, always run into certain guys whom everybody knows their name because it takes a mini Zerg to take them down. Just would like to be able to troll once in a while because pure dps gets boring sometimes. Would like to be able to just walk into a breach and talons everyone and just overall run it as support, as long as I can handle that I'd be fine without doing much damage. Have fully golded nightblade and Templar and I have a ton of Temp alloy and thousands of ingots burning a hole in my bank so I decided to go for it. Anybody know how long approximately to get from 1-50 grinding with ring of Mara and XP scrolls in the public dungeons in wrothgar? I haven't leveled a new guy in like 9 months!

Make a set of full training gear and purple it. It gives you 79% additional xp if I'm not mistaken.

I solo grinded a toon up last week. Wrothgar wasted packed so went around different EP areas. I got to level 10, got vigor by 13 then grinded 50. Honestly, took about 12 hours in total. 3 of that was for vigor. I used all training gear and no pots.

As for the 3-4 guys who work together that's fine with me, I enjoy a challenge, but again I don't run alone, it would be a good distraction if they focused on me while my guiildies were free to dps. I have high expectations but I'm not stupid, I know I won't be invincible, but seemingly on consoles a lot of casual Pvpers don't realize that while they try to womp on me my squad will melt them. When my team runs into things like this were smart enough to ignore that player and dps any healers and others, leaving the tank for last.

What setup are you using to get 4700 WD? I assume that is also buffed?

If you can toss in some skills that debuff, root, interrupt, etc., it will be more beneficial to your group and also cause problems because the enemy players can't just ignore you. Especially if you are good and target healers. :)

I'm a stamplar so keep in mind, I sacrifice a lot of regen for pure weapon damage glyphs because I catch so many bodies in pve and Pvp to where repentance will fill me back to 32k stamina almost always. I rock all gold agilty jewlerly Molag kena hundings, and night mothers. And yes that's buffed (only rally) and I'm at 4700. Pm me if you'd like more details or have any questions. I enjoy discussing my builds, it's hard to theorycraft on console due to no PTS, so I kind of usually built this stamplar by trial and error!

So would I be better if dumping everything into stamina, or a mix? Of 2 different attributes?

Looks fun actually. ...but after a while I would get bored and not even try to attack you anymore.

Exactly, but on console most people aren't smart enough for that. They will waste their entire resource pool on me while my guild mates come and steam roll them. I mean I started him, he's at 15 until I can finish him up tomorrow, and in Cyrodiil I held 15 blues at a breach wih only dragon blood and spiked armour, and talons them at breach while they got wiped at oil. It was the type of fun like when I fell in love with My main, a Templar.

Vampire. Use mist form. Watch most randoms spam AOE thinking you just cloaked, or when you have under 50% health I dodge roll through their group then try to mist form away.

I tend to take up to 10 people with me in large group battles for up to 2 minutes before either I finally die, or my team wipes the rest of their group and moves in to finish them off.

ya, but with 8 sturdy and block reduction jewelry + cp + s&b block is free, and you dont get crit when blocking, seems to me like crafting hist bark or armor master in sturdy is at this point stronger than black rose for a pure tank. not wasting tones of stam on shuffle/dropping block to cast it, isnt exactly useless. agree u need a debuff set like durocs bane or fasallas guile, so you do something more than just cluster scrubs together.

Don't do a hybrid, IMO. I've seen MDK builds that go full Magicka, but trait their crafted gear with block cost reduction, stam cost reduction and spec CP into the same. Balance with crit resits though, unless you have 5 transmutation. I don't play that spec, so I'm no expert, but I've seen people be exactly what you're looking for that way.
