Help with non vet PVP Gear

I've read a few things on non vet PVP in Blackwater Blade, that contradict each other.

Does wearing set armor matter? Enchantments? Should gear be Impenetrable?

Some say yes, others say you can go naked and have the same stats, but if I put armor on my stats do change so I don't know what to believe. With battle leveling its hard to tell what the gear is actually affecting.

Just curious if anyone knows what affects your stats and what doesn't.

Yes it all affects your stats. Wear set armor, enchant it and wear some impen.

Gear affects your stats enormously. Enchantments on that gear matter too. Impen is of relatively lower value in nonvet, but I run all impen on all non heavy armor builds and then I run reinforced on large pieces of heavy armor and my shield. My reason being in nonvet 25% crit chance is a great critical percentage, but that's significantly lower than levels in vet. Reinforced buffers that 75%+ much more efficiently with heavy armor builds.

Sets are really the best part of nonvet - there are so many sets that have not been scaled to vet PvP or CP160 and can be used to really fun effect in nonvet. A lot of those can be picked up very cheaply.

    Thanks for the input.

I was wearing sets (crafted) but wasn't sure if they were doing anything based on some stuff I read (seemed like old posts).

I have to say, I've always hated PVP in this game (since launch). And then recently I made a new character (my first magicka Nightblade) and decided to play in Blackwater to unlock the pvp skill lines, and I've found non-vet to be a lot of fun.

She's now level 30 and I"m bummed cause soon she'll be 50 and won't be able to play here. I've tried a few times to do vet in the past few months and just never have fun. Massive zergs and expert players who practically one shot (technically 3-4 shots but all happens in less than a second). Then long amounts of time riding a horse back to combat.

A little bit of a advice... "Get Naked!" :)

Seriously do it, and then add each piece of your armor and watch how your stats change. Then add enchantments and watch how your stats change, add a drink/food and watch how your stats change, switch weapons and watch how your stats change, kneel down and watch to see if your stats change, and finally press a buff on your bar and watch how your stats change :)

    Everything matters :)

There are players that just constantly play characters in Blackwater. I've even known some that delete characters once they outlevel Blackwater. You have the possibility for 12 character slots. If you like Blackwater, make a new character and have at it. You can recycle your gear for your next character as well.

I've heard of players deleting and recreating characters to do non vet permanently.

I have 9 characters so far, so I have a few slots free to do that.

Blackwater is unique. You won't get the same experience in any other campaign. Just keep in mind that when you've been through multiple Blackwater characters and are a pro that you be nice and help the newbies that are just getting started for the first time. I hated seeing bitter and angry players that had obviously been PvPing in Blackwater for a long time. If the newbies frustrate them so much they should join the big leagues.

I'm one of those guys that recycles characters in BwB. My computer can't handle the requirements of vet PvP, but I really enjoy PvP a lot more than PvE. BwB is a much healthier and fun environment than any CP160 campaign.
