Can you achieve the same DPS with sword/shield as two handed in PvP?

I was looking into making a sorcerer but I'm very bored with two handed so I thought I might try using sword and shield. The thing is that even though two handed is boring it gives very high DPS with wrecking blow, executioner and critical rush. Can I match that DPS by using sword and shield? What skills would be best? I have never leveled that skill line so I can't compare the damage numbers, any advice for pure PvP?

Same DPS - No. Why do you think that SnB gives a whole lot of extra defense and an extra item slot if it also did the same DPS as 2H? Yea, it can do some DPS, but even on the best setups it does not get close to 2H.

You get lower overall damage, however, you get access to reverb bash and ransack. LA - Ransack - Bash is almost as much damage as WB in the same time period.
You could run 2h/Snb with stampede and reverse slash on 2h bar and reverb/ransack on SnB bar, this gives you the nice aoe execute and access to battle rush passive in 2h line.

yeah SnB is very strong atm in pvp, no doubt. Its not as bursty as 2h but it still has good utility and acceptable damage, particularly with high damage sets, skirmisher, alchemist, kena, ravager, etc

yeah SnB is very strong atm in pvp, no doubt. Its not as bursty as 2h but it still has good utility and acceptable damage, particularly with high damage sets, skirmisher, alchemist, kena, ravager, etc

*cough* s&b heavy stam dk *cough*

I've seen a few sorc use s&b/bow or s&b dw in pvp successfully, though i still think it'll be below a meta set up of 2h/bow.
