On console, how do we know when we under the effect of a poison? I can't seem to tell via a visual cue.

Is there some way to know?

    Turn on combat text.
But usually you can see it on your player or your health bar will have the arrows pointing inward to indicate you're losing health from a DoT.

So, when I get poisoned, you see a black cloudy green mist inside of your characters body when it hits you. Combat text doesn't tell you anything on console that is just damage indicators. Poison is an effect-- so look for the black green mist on your characters upper body for the visual cue.

If you need an example, equip any poison on to your current weapon of choice, hit an enemy monster like a troll with light attacks, when it procs your weapon will glow a black green misty color-- its basically the same effect.

Still doesn't inform you of what type odlf debuff you have been afflicted with because *** this game on console.

Yeah, it's really annoying. So we can see it proc but not the duration nor the effect?

I was wondering cuz I was in battle and noticed my magicka cost was increasing (due to poison) but had no other way of knowing.

I know PC has add on that allow you to know these things. They shouldn't have added poison without an indicator...

Yeah you have to check your resource bars first-- the best one to check is the resource you didn't put attribute points into. Like I have gotten hit by a -60% magic poison. So when I checked my magic pool it was half way down.

Tho if you are fighting a guy with poison, you need to slow play your fight if its just 1v1. If your in a big fight and you get hit, just hide behind your fellows who are fighting next to you. Most poisons don't last more then 3-11 seconds anyway. Weakest Resource being attacked the number 1 thing that can affect your play. Not too sure about the ultimate poison, but then you have the option of never using your ult until the poison passes.

For example, if you run Mass Hysteria and -60% stamina poison and manage activate both on a Magicka based enemy player, their options are literally shut down and they can't do anything to break Hysteria. It's pretty much a free kill.

You basically have to guess yes. Though, if you break Line of Sight and hide behind a rock or a tree. You can let the poison pass and no further damage would be caused if you don't actually try to use your afflicted resources.

Now the one poison you need to watch out for is the Immovable poison. I ran with a group in IC that fought two Stam Sorcs. Both ran with immovable poison and would Invasion or Streak / LA/HA / proc the immovable poison making you endlessly suck in a CC loop. You pretty much would just die without being able to do anything.

I have only really noticed the immovable and the stamina cost, even as stamina is my major stat, in the heat of combat with xbox's clarity of picture its pretty much impossible to tell you are poisoned until you are out of resources or suddenly cant move for no apparent reason.

I was under the impression that the weird swirls under your characters feet (ie not the normal ones for CC immunity) indicated that you were poisoned. Based on the responses in this thread now I'm not nearly as confident. Can someone definitively weigh in here? If those don't indicate poison status, what do they mean?

Green swirls around your feet means you dodge rolled and if you do it again it'll cost 50% more.

Blue electricity means you streaked and if you do it again it'll cost you.

Hands glowing means you procced something,

Arms glowing means you've gained some sort of buff (CP buffs and empower)

A shield in front means blocking

    You mentioned the CC one.

I know green orbs go with an ability

I don't know about poison and even so, how do we know which kind?

I would rather purge a 60% increase in cost but don't give a .... about 1000 dmg over the course of 6 secs (or 150ish dps lmfao)

    ...
The one I'm referring to looks similar to the CC immunity swirl but the lines are thicker and more pronounced. Until seeing this thread I was reasonably sure it meant 'poisoned'. I am very familiar with the dodge-roll et al. effects and the one I am describing is different. I am not able to play for another few days but I will test with a char on a different alliance when I get back.
