Dueling tips for a magDK?

Hi all my stats are
33k magicka 1500 regen
24/29k health
17k Stam

2400 spell damage dw bar
Don't know the resistance out of my head

Dunmer cp503 5h 2l
2p bloodspawn
5p kagrenacs
3p willpower
2p Torug's dual wielding bar
2p endurance s&b bar

I'm mainly looking for help against stam builds, dueled a stam dk earlier and it went on forever mainly because I couldn't finish him when he had low health, any good videos or written stuff for magDK's?

I've had some success using dawnbreaker of smiting for ultimate, as counterintuitive as it may be(it does physical damage). The knockdown+heavy DOT (even as a mag DK) when used at a point where the enemy is getting low on health, combined with all other DOT's that you can stack, is sometimes enough to overcome his healing and finish him off with root+whips. It's still hit-and-miss tho.

the most common finishing move is (while embers are up) meteor + drain (vampire skill) with the goal of getting an unblocked meteor through.

the easiest change for more offense would be towards skoria

that said, as long as everybody and his mom runs vigor + rally + major mending and sometimes even major vitality or from pots or malubeth, i'd run fasallas (and maybe fasallas + reverb) on almost everything. really lets you finish all mediocre plyaers that know how to stack health sustain and forces the good players to relieve you of some pressure because they have to stop attacking for more than 2 seconds every now and then (usually before rally finishes). everyone that blindly spams his usual "rotation" is toast

I was actually thinking of trying fassallas on my stamDk, maybe combined with the fury set. I also have a magplar and a stamblade but magDK's are way more fun to play imo. When I do win a duel on her its way more rewarding and satisfying

I do have a skoria set that use sometimes, I'll try it out in duels. I'll also give dawnbreaker of smiting a go, I have 75 in thaumaturge so the dot will burn some more.
I've geen going back and forth between Fossilize and drain, which would you suggest?

I'm also using a major defile poison, is this a good choice?

Clever Alchemist set is your friend. 1v1 I try to keep things ranged with flame reach on the destro staff and heavy attacks then when they are under 50% health pop a spell crit pot, hit bat swarm then get kinky with some chains and whips.
However I will add that I suck at 1v1 but when I manage to stick to my strategy it seems to be quite successful.

I just switched to choking talons for just that reason, people don't stay in them long enough for them do actuall damage I think.
