I see many suggestions here and there on the forum saying use TS, (Team Speak). I know guilds often have team speak and I know how to get to the TS server for a particular guild. But if you don't know the server and password you can't use it .... and you certainly can't use it if you are not in that guild.
Its great for fast communication in dungeons when you can ask about mechanics or what is happening next or whats the best way to tackle that boss? And really essential in pvp .....
So my question is ..... Is there a ESO server for TS? That anyone can use? If so where and how? If not ..... Why not?
Consoles have chat I think. Does pc? I am on the EU server, ebonheart pact if that is useful.

The only voice chat for PC is third party like Teamspeak or becoming more popular Discord. People also use Skype and other VOIP systems.

That I know Nestor, I use TS in guild, but is there a general ESO server for TS? For pvp? For playing with groups from group finder ie non guildies.

To my knowledge there is no such server. TS servers are put up and maintained by individuals, ZOS does not have such a server.

That would be nice to have. I wonder how many people it takes for a Team speak server to start puking all over the voices? Maybe someone could set one up out of the kindness of their hearts and make the information available to general players.

I know I don't want the voice chat that is currently on the consoles where you hear everyone and their cats and dogs. What I would like is a system where we had a Voice Chat option if we were grouped with someone we could do voice chat if we wanted. That is really the only time I want Voice Chat myself. Making it an option would allow those who don't want to speak up to not have to use it.

Then may I very politely ask......... why not? Why is there no voice communication on pc? What possible reason is there against it? Use it if you want it, don't if you don't need to.

Because (paraphrasing what the devs have said): we have lots of options for voice chat on PC that most people already use, there's no pressing need to add one directly to the game.

i.e. adding voice chat directly to ESO would cost time & money they would rather spend on making DLCs and crown store items.

That being said I would love group / guild voice channel options directly in the game.

Seeing your EU PC and Pact there is the War Council TeamSpeak which is an open PvP TeamSpeak. You would need to speak with @DeanTheCat about access to that though as I am no longer sure of requirements.

If you want to do this, I would recommend you use raidcall

It is free, and you can hold up to 100,000 people in one connective server.

^This....BUT ONLY for Groups. If I wanted to hear constant ramblings from immature teenagers I'd go watch my kiddo play Xbox One.....

Zone chat would be utter chaos on PC with this. Instead of people spamming in zone chat, they'd be screaming WTS!!!!

Yep, I think for Groups it would be great. Guilds? Maybe, but if it was optional then no worries.

I want it to include a voice changer so we sound like our characters. Hearing everyone's RL voice just pulls me out of the game. Glad I did this on PC and not console.

Just set up a mumble or ts server and give the info to your group. Why would I want the devs wasting their time to implement a *** version of mumble that I would never use, just because you are too lazy to set up a server?

Zeni devs should spend their time doing things that we can't do for ourselves.

I am not too lazy...... dear god l2r........ I asked if there was one. Little point in me having one is there was one ready to use. I use the guild one for guild groups..... but non-guild groups need to communicate too.

A game can provide a voice system IF AND ONLY IF it is very, very, veeeeeery stable, like Mass Effect 3 and ESO is not even close to that (deal with it)

TeamSpeak has a "public" server, and if I am not mistaken, all you have to do is download the TS client. The address to the public server should already be set up in the bookmark tab. You have to create your own channel, and you can choose to add a password, then all you have to do is tell your group what the channel name and password is. This way, no one has to be maintaining a TS server.

The public TS is a bit of a hassle though, as users in your channel will "time out" if they don't speak every so often, and that will result in them being kicked out of the channel. They can hop back in any time, but it can be a problem while in the middle of a fight. I am not sure if you can eliminate that issue or not, but it's possible. Another slight hassle with it is that there can be hundreds of channels set up by people in that server, so it can be a bit of a pain scrolling through all that to find the one you are looking for. However, there is a search function where you can search for the name of the channel you want, but I forget the command for that.

The server you set up in public TS is not permanent though. I think it disappears after a certain amount of time once everyone leaves it, but you can always create a new one on the fly when you have a need.

Using the public TS server keeps you from having to give out your guild's server info to non guild members, and it allows you to use TS without anyone having to pay for a server.

First, I was addressing the thread not you specifically. Second, you posted in this thread saying you wanted some optional voice chat.

Global or faction based voice chat sounds like a terrible idea. You want voice chat with 200+ other people? Voice chat is only good at group level, so see my original post.

Also, learn to type. It's not that hard and is a great way to communicate in-game.
