Explains a lot why the forums often seem to be very opposed to some of the changes the devs make. They make changes based on metrics we will never see.

Well forums users are probably not even 1% of the playerbase, so....

I know it's always like that in MMO's. I think it's maybe even worse here, as console players seem to be very rare here, but are quit a sizeable portion on the playerbase.

Console and PC players should never have been in the same CP "bracket" to begin with.

If the name-tags go live in the same format as the PTS, we'll soon know exactly how many CPs everyone has.

I was amazed to see how many players are running around with 1000+ (made me feel like a slacker with my measly 460-something).

I don't look at the forums religiously, but I'm surprised there hasn't been more fuss about CP count becoming public (even this poll was made private to keep others seeing how you voted).

I am at 504 or so right now. My 4 of my 5 VR Alts are near getting another point, so in about an hour I could have 508.

If they do in fact give me another 40 points for my VR16 rank, I will be at the next cap when DB releases. After that, with the changes to Mob Experience, the only way I will get any more CPs is by questing on my VR1.

Actually truth be said, most of the players who are in the forums are experienced players, who has been playing the game for quite some time, bar a few.
Asked people the same question in the live NA server in the last alliance zones and half of the players had no idea what CP meant.

I'm thinking of all the abandoned characters that are dead in the water... They have a low CP threshold, they never attempt and complete endgame content... How much do those 'dead souls' affect ratios and statistics that ZOS sees?

Oh how much I wish even fraction of this kind of data was publicly available - ratio of new players, % of currently subbed ones, medium CP amount vs medium CP amount of those who logged i at least once within past month and so on. I feel like that will help advance player base accept otherwise questionable decisions so much easier!

Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

I thought they weren't raising the cap for DB? And remember that you won't be questing on a VR1 after DB, you'll be questing on your lvl50/cp504, they will earn XP just the same as all your other vets.

    I've got around 350 CP's.

And with my character spread across the VR's, I think I'm doing pretty good. I'm not grinding frantically to get to the cap, but I'm not purposefully holding up the process either.

I just play, and CP's will come as they come.

They stated the next cap increase, whenever it happens, will be to 550 or so. That was what I meant by the next cap increase. With DB, we will get less points, 30% of on level, when we are over the mob levels by 50 points. So, this means each and every current Vet Rank will be earning CPs at 1/3 the rate they are getting them now.

So, yes, I will be earning CPs at the same rate, it will just be a rate that I don't want to earn them at.

I've taken months off at a time since the TU/ Champion Point release, spend most of my time in PvP, and have never xp grinded for CPs.... and I'm at ~418

With the catch up mechanics that are in place now (that I didn't see until I had about 250cp), I don't understand how anyone who plays semi-regularly could have less than 160-200cp.

Thats because zos includes the cp average of players that play once a week or dont even play anymore. They need to base it on the "actual" eso players.

If you never publish your internal statistics, you can never be overly questioned. They will never give those figures, just broad suggestions to support whatever they say.

It's the same in the industry I work in. Why open yourself up to questions? Much better to keep the data to yourself.

According to my projections, I will be at the CP cap for.....

... the rest of this game's existence.

Seriously, look at those survey results. 40% of the player base is waiting for them to raise the cap. They said they were going to in DB, but chose not to (at least as of today). That means 40% of us will not see any form of "progression" for at least the next 4 months, and that's not even factoring for the # of months which many of us have already been at the cap.

On a side note, I didn't expect them to raise the CP cap during the same update in which they removed veteran ranks. If they did, I can imagine a great number of things that can go wrong, and I'm certain we'll see a great deal of issues anyway. The underlying point is still valid, however, in that progression in this game is all but completely halted. Even the newest trial gear is considered at best equally powerful as the stuff we've had access to for 3 months now.

With nearly 400 votes, 60% are close to or already over the cap. The forums do need more representation from the rest of the gaming community. I'm not saying its bad having veterans of the game posting, but there needs to be a better spread of players to come here and express their opinions. I'm hoping more would vote on it so we can get a more clear view of everyone who does visit the forums and where they stand in the game.

im at 618 as of last night, it would not suprise me if ZOS "suddenly" raised the cap at DB launch. not saying anything now would imply they dont want people farming to be at cap when it goes live.

I have 460 so close to cap just not their yet I'll get it by the time Thieves Guilds drop.

You will get another 40 cp since your vet levels will be converted to cp, so you could stop to grind if you want.
Also i think you mean Dark Brotherhood^^

Can you explain a bit how that works? I thought the extra points was just a small boost so people who had for example V16 but champion points below 160 could still equip Rank 160 gear.

I have a couple V1s as well as V3, V8, V10 and V16. If I'm at Champion Rank 460 or so when DB drops, are you sure I would get the extra 40 CP you mentioned?
