Molten Whip for DK in PvP

I know pretty much all PvP builds for Dk use Flame Lash, as I did also. I'm wondering if many have used Molten Whip in PvP? I switched to Molten Whip a few days ago for more dps doing Undaunted pledges. I went into Azura's Star(non cp) campaign as a guest to try it out as I have only about 310 CP and bored with all of the 150+ zerg fights and glowing "Barney's" running around with Proxy Det.

I found that using Molten Whip in Azura, actually worked out pretty well. Not sure how well it would work in a CP campaign, but with Whip, burning Emebers, and engulfing flames on my main bar, and 2 piece Val Skoria build, I found it worked very well and I was able to burst down people very quickly, especially if Skoria proc'd.

So I'm just curious if many others have tried Molten Whip to try and get more damage. If I get time tonight, I'm gonna try it on a CP campaign, not sure how effective it would be on there, as it's usually huge groups fighting, so your just contributing to DPS, rarely ever getting in a small scale battle, or at least for me anyways lol.

    I've been using Molten, only because I feel comfortable with my regen. I imagine if I had a higher dmg build with lower regen I'd opt for Flame.

    Yea wasnt bad. Burning embers hit harder, but the actual ability doesnt hit hard. The extra umph from flame lash to nice

    I have always used it, though my primary reason was that I would need the extra damage in PvE since I do both. Flame lash takes a lot of set up to really get the full use out of it and that just doesn't fit my Yolo style gameplay. If I did a lot of planned 1v1s I would go lash but since I Yolo and PvE I use Molten whip.

    There are too many DK abilites that proc the "off-balance" status to NOT use Flame Lash IMO. But to each their own. If you find something that works for you, Use it!

    In pvp there is zero reason to use molten. 2 mDK, same gear same skill, the one with molten will loose.

    Flame lash is pretty cool. I found a good combo with Lightning Staff, Shock enchant, wall of elements. Sets enemies off a balance alot. This video shows me getting 5 in a row.

    How does that work exactly? Not really familiar with the concussion/destruction staff synergies. Never thought to try running lightning on a dk.

    The lightning enchant can proc off the Wall of Elements or my staff attack which makes them concussed. When they are concussed on the Wall of elements it also sets them off balance. The shock enchant with the Destruction Staff passive that increase proc chance of effects really work well together.

    Isn't there an internal cooldown on enchantment procs though?

    Yes, but I think concussion lasts 4 seconds and then you get another proc chance right when the duration ends. The whole time the enemy is concussed they will be off balance in the wall too.

    I think next patch, with the increase to break free cost, it is going to be viable

    Yes it works in PvP. Its not easy to keep people in the blockade of elements though, fossilize helps for that. I'm curious how the change to the charge trait on weapons will work with this combo.

    "Charged: This trait now increases your chance to apply status effects instead of increasing the amount of enchantment charges on your weapon."
