Sure would love if sorc pets didn't occupy 2 skill slots.

Inner Light, Siphon Attacks, and other used-to-be-toggles don't anymore... OP or not OP if sorc pets only required one ability slot and didn't unsummon when switching bars if they aren't on both?

They changed it so pets wasnt a toggle anymore. If I could find the quote in the patch notes I would put it here.

However, they also kept it so if you switch to a weapon that doesnt have it slotted it would still get unsummoned......

SO, the conclusion is: They put a sticker on a potato and called it a tomato. Its still very much a potato.

This is actually one of the reasons I do not play a sorc. I want to use pets, but if I am forced to give up FOUR slots instead of just two, just no.

Only problem I see with this is every sorcerer would throw their pets on their overload bar, and then still have 13 spots to work with. And that may be a bit overpowered IMO. That being said I would love a decent heal that doesn't require being locked into a restoration staff as a Sorcerer, and I think ZOS tried to do that with the Twilight but we can't afford to give up two slots for a mostly unreliable heal (it dies and you have nothing).

That means ZoS needs to fix the damn overload bar.

You don't have to worry about that, because if the pets were stranded on the Overload bar, the Sorcerer would never be able to activate their special abilities (e.g. the Twilight's heal) on demand, not without waiting for the lengthy Overload activation animation to complete. This would also complicate re-casting the pets if they die... what if the Sorc is out of Ultimate?

But those sorcs who don't use pets would still throw them on that bar, it creates more targets and you can still go about your life as a normal sorcerer while putting up those pets that will still auto attack.

Jjust make them so you can't summon them from overload bar. If you slotted them in overload you could still use their abilities, just not summon.

I'd be fine if you didn't have to double bar them.

Unless you give up the permanence of sorc pets, this will never change.

Putting them on one bar and then switching, without them disappearing, is essentially giving you two additional ability slots because they have no limited duration. That'd be like someone putting rally on one weapon bar, activating it, and then switching and having the +20% weapon damage buff last indefinitely, or any other number of similar abilities.

If you want to switch bars without losing your pets, you'd better be ready to settle for them being 30 a second duration ability after summoning.

Templars require two slots out of five on both bars for resource management only. At least your pets can do things for those slots used.

So if I understand you correctly, you are saying to be fair to sorcerors, treat sorc toggle skills the same way other classes have been treated? I don't disagree with that, as long as the equal treatment is applied across all parts of the class, which implies a number of things, the most obvious being get rid of the overload bar. No other class gets a third skill bar.

The thing is, all passive/active effects etc... from mage light, etc... will not boost any stats on a bar without them slotted.

So they still act like toggles, just like the Pets.

I still gotta have innerlight slotted on all bars to keep my magicka, and crit boost.

They are not "toggles"in the sense, that they do not appear/summon when pressed, but rather activate a spell.

They are still toggles in the sense they are required to be on all bars.

    This ^
20-30s duration would be required, and obviously it shouldn't be able to be slotted on the overload bar. But a great idea indeed.
