Cyrodiil campaign timers - noob question

Question on Cyrodiil, im new to PvP on xbox and trying to L2P - how do the campaign timers work / what do they mean?

1. When do they reset – i.e.is the 7 day every weekend or?
2. When it states campaign ended what does that mean? - Is there a dead time between one stopping and next starting? Or is the leaderboard just locked or is it done when an alliance captures the 6 keeps?
3. When a campaign starts is the map cleared? i.e all alliances back to home keeps - Or does it just continue?

Sparked by several frustrating days not being able to leave spawn gate...

1) each has a duration stated in the description of the campaign, i.e. 7 days, 30 days, etc.
2) there is no gap between them, it just restarts without any further ado
3). the map is NOT cleared,

Well, you can infer the exact second the campaign will end from the timer. I imagine at this point after the original timers got changed by weird patch lengths and such that the exact times they end could be really screwy times of day.

Whether or not someone became emperor doesn't have any effect. Your question is NOT stupid or noobish as there's almost no way to figure some of these things out. Way back when the guild I was in tested just about every little thing in Cyrodiil when we simply couldn't find answers ourselves, and people no longer do a good job explaining it to those next in line!

The campaign duration actually has nothing whatsoever to do with emperor changes.

(3) Yes, it seems perfectly logical for that to be how it works, doesn't it? One thing I can say is that when a campaign ends on an unpopular server the enemy guild that came to sit and get the reward with little opposition quite often will just up and leave (having set "change Home when campaign ends") and you won't even notice til all of a sudden there's just one poor AD guy who didn't get the memo looking around wondering where everyone is.

And you're most welcome. There's a LOT going on in Cyrodiil that unless you already know what the deal is can be impossible to ever figure out.

Thanks @runagate so

1. is the time set? i.e. 7 day one are 8pm on a Friday every Friday reset or?
2. OK - what does it mean when it just says Campaign : done? (think it says done or over) instead of time left. Does that mean someone made Emp in the 7 days or? (sorry very noob to how it works)
3. OK thanks! shame might stop the total domination if there were some resets now and then to a blank map!
