Quick question about wards providing crit resist

So I am aware that shields can't be critted. My question is, if someone is running Harness Magicka and they are hit with physical damage, can that damage crit? Logically it seems like it should be able to because it would bypass the shield entirely but I'm not sure. I could test this but I'd love a quick answer.
