WHAT ABOUT HEALTH BUILDS? They don't even exist. If they separate healing from damage and transfer it to health they could have much better balance between health, stamina and magicka. Hybrids and tanks would make a comeback while still leaving a glass cannon option.

Yes, I completely agree. They need to have a separate pool for dodging, running, etc.. This new pool can be named something else (power, agility, etc etc).
    How about Fatigue?

I come from the world of D&D and therefore truly feel I understand the inherent "balance" (or lack there of) in a traditional RPG between classes.

Balance isn't being capable of doing everything another can. Balance is about having a strength in an area that another class is weak, and vice versa.

Ultimately, magic based classes in RPG's will always seem more powerful than a purely melee character. Right up until the point you encounter a creature with high magic immunity/resistance.

This is the world of well crafted traditional RPG's.

Videogames used to truly mirror this ideal until competitive environments became the norm for multiplayer.

I don't think "balance" is adequately represented as a universal truth. I think people have their own subjective views of what balance is...but if you truly want a balanced class breakdown in an RPG environment, look at 4th edition D&D.

In essence, every single class can do the exact same thing as every other class - just with different names and flavor text.

It flopped horribly among the avid D&D community players...it would likely flop horribly among MMO/RPG enthusiasts.

This is why I am confused on how the buff/nerf process in this game goes and the community reaction to it as well.

Personally, I think they should focus more on identifying what various classes should be strong at, and ensuring they have glaring weakness. Not how they can put all classes on "equal footing".

That is not the point, no one is asking for both magicka and stamina to be exactly the same. Quite the opposite actually.

The current system is inherently flawed because one side has a shared resource pool while the other side has a dedicated resource pool and in order to balance the two, ZOS has been patching in band-aids that usually fall short of their goal.
