Tips for a Scrub

Can anyone tell me how people tank so much in pvp? Ill hit with snipes, jabs, wb, just about anything that hits hard and they take virtually no damage. i have 4300+ weapon damage so that isnt the problem. But I get bursted down in seconds by anyone with a similar build. I have 25k health and lots of points into Hardy. Im not sure if its a CP problem, I only have about 300. I havent unlocked vigor yet either, about halfway through rank 4, so that could be a big issue with my survivability.

Vigor is huge for stamina survive ability.

Gear set setups, CP allocation, skills that increase resistances it impossible to tell from your example.

If your not using a hard cc, a snare, and a disorient combined good payers will feel almost no pressure.

Unless your a sorc most burst damage is going to come from a combination of ultimate and weapon abilities.

Meteor into crit rush for example

Crit Rush - light attack - spear - light jabs should get almost any class on the defensive

Spear - crit rush - dawnbreaker - jabs works but it the cc break and roll jabs may not connect.

Never stand in front of your target always try to work to the side or back.

If you use WB about halfway through the wind up tap light attack and immediately hit jabs if the cc from WB hit either animation they will generally eat the full jabs.

Snare people before you cc them because in their wisdom last patch ZOS made snares over the top ridiculous to deal with which is why almost everyone is running shuffle.

    Hop that helps

Oh and use channels focus and purifying ritual if you don't already.

Some players, especially those with 400 champion points, are horrible to try to kill. Try finding an edge in your strategy - surprise attacks, sneak attacks, catch them off guard, learn to weave out of their field of view to confuse them, etc.

Also, consider two pieces of heavy. Most of the best buffs max out at five pieces of medium. Two pieces of heavy add a lot of armor and health help.

Third, a lot of players in PVP protect themselves from crit strikes. You might therefore trade out the night mothers (which is great) for something that offers more resource management help or health. I think those two pieces of NM (2nd and 4th) increase your crit chance by like 8-12%. It's a good buff, but you can probably do better than making one in ten hits slightly harder.

Dodge roll, block in right moments, reflects (DK's Scale/Defensive Stance), running behind corners, Dodge buff... pick couple of those. Vigor isnt way to success, unlucky. For compare - my own heal for 12k (tooltip) which is halfed in PvP. Heard that even Rally is more effective than Vigor... but needs some training in use.
When it comes to Champion Point allocation - UInchained (?). This one helps a lot. What is more, try to split (if you can) to Hardy and Elemental Defender - IIRC 48 points give 15% of reduction. That would you make more resistant in overall to magic damage, if you know what i mean.
For armor - depend on what pasisve you wanna rely on - if Undaunted (max Stats), then 5/1/1, if more defensively: like mentioned above 2 pieces of Heavy could help a bit.
Look what passives&skills grants you Major or Minor buffs - avoid overstaking 'em.

Just make an NB or a stamina DK, and don't forget to use a two handed axe and multiple mundus.

I run on my templar 5 kragenac's hope, all heavy.... 4 pieces impenetrable,
    I also run 2 pce blood spawn, 1 heavy(Reinforced), 1 light(divines)...

    Dual wield swords,
    Sword and shield(impenetrable)

I can pretty much survive alot of snipes and crit damage is minimized by the impenetrable trait on my armour,

As a NB you are probably running medium armour with all divines or some infused and some divines to maximize damage output,

So you have absolutely no mitigation for damage.

@nilldax - Dont try running around corners with a WB spammer, it hits around corners...

im not a nb, im a stamplar.

I am going to revamp my gear setup though after reading all these comments. I knew I needed more regen but mitigation and which gear sets are best were things I didnt know about.

I don't suppose anyone thinks willows path is a decent 5 set instead of hundings? I have 60% crit when buffed and my agility jewelry all has Weapon Damage enchants so the bonuses from hundings might not be as useful as the regen willows would provide. I guess Im wondering how to get my regen in the 2k range without sacrificing too much dps

Yeah I faced builds like that (mostly DKs) - very annoying.
They kite you until the corrosive armor ultimate is up and then they face you - when you have no armor and they take no damage...guess what happens next?

Usually they play in 2-4 people groups for better ultimate regeneration and better kiting.

All is up to you, but...
Willow's Path increases "flat&stable" values (ie regen drink wont be boosted). Some say its bugged, otehrs not... When it comes to jewellery - change one rune to ST regeneration, or instead of changing set sustain - use Serpent Mundus (+ST regen). Also CP allocation - Mooncalf from Lover constellation (at 100 give 25% more ST regen).

    That is issue with connection.
Simply block first hit, knock him off or whatever - to slaughter my char with WB i must not pay attention to it. Usually dodge roll in right moment is nuff to make WB-spammer mad
