Magicka Sorc PvP Build {Huge Spell Damage | Huge Self Heals | Great Sustain} [ TWICE BORN CANNON ]

✭✭✭
For the past month I have been determined to find a Magicka Sorc build that produces insane DPS while holding onto the sustain that we require. After millions of gold being spent on re-specs, re-gearing and failed attempts the ultimate Magicka Sorc build has been created. Without further ado I give you my build:

The Twice Born Cannon

Race Choice:

1: Altmer (No explanation necessary, this is the #1 pick for most magicka builds for a reason.)
2: Breton (Close runner up to Altmer in their proficiency with Magicka. Either choice will yield similar results.)
3: Dunmer (This is a vampirism build, so obviously Dunmer will be an excellent choice to save yourself some burn marks.)

Gear Sets: UNDAUNTED PASSIVE ACTIVE

Dual Wield: Torugs Pact Sword x2 (Nirnhoned)
Resto Staff: Whatever you want (Nirnhoned)

Head: Molag Kena (Medium) Impenetrable
Shoulders: Molag Kena (Heavy) Impenetrable
Chest: Twice Born Star (Light) Divines
Hands: Twice Born Star (Light) Divines
Legs: Twice Born Star (Light) Divines
Waist: Twice Born Star (Light) Divines
Feet: Twice Born Star (Light) Impenetrable

Ring 1: Willpower [Arcane] [+Spell Damage]
Ring 2: Willpower [Arcane] [+Spell Damage]
Neck: Willpower [Arcane] [+Magicka Regen]
Mundus Stones:

Apprentice: (More Spell Damage)
The Ritual: (Insane Healing from Frags, Overload and Healing Ward.)

Champion Points: (Based on only 231 CP's)

The Lover:

Arcanist 64

The Apprentice:

Blessed 10

Elfborn 19

Spell Erosion 1

The Ritual:

Thaumaturge: 47

The Steed:

Resistant 7

The Lord:

Bastion 70

Action Bars:

Dual Wield Bar:

[Tangling Webs] Spam - [Velocious Curse] - [Boundless Storm] - [Crystal Frags] - [Inner Light] - ULTIMATE: [ENERGY OVERLOAD]

Resto Staff Bar:

[Hardened Ward] - [Streak] - [Healing Ward] - [Harness Magicka] - [Inner Light] - ULTIMATE: [Storm Atronach/Comet]

Tangling webs puts out more dps than people think, not to mention a nice snare and an overpowered synergy to take advantage of while in a group of 2 or more. What else can you ask for?

The Self healing on this build is ridiculous. So far I haven't found anyone 1v1 that can damage through the heals. 1vX is no problem at all with this build using Regen drinks.

Yes, when the maintenance is complete I will be recording a video of my complete build. Right now I am sitting around:

3950 Spell Damage w/ Power Surge

    1983 Regen w/ Purple Drinks

Spell damage is without Kena proc. I am thinking about losing some spell damage and increasing regen. Although my regen CP is no where near capped yet. So once I gain some CP I should be able to keep the build as is.

Why the ritual? Interesting concept but I can't understand why you'd use the ritual over the mage or the apprentice, why do you need more healing received? Does the ritual work on shields?

The Ritual increases Healing Effectiveness. All forms of healing are buffed 12%. Combined with Elfborn and Blessed. The healing is over the top. Without the ritual I am being dropped much quicker. With the ritual it is almost impossible to out dps my self heals.

I would like to see screen shot buffed and unbuffed. I am researching for twice born star. Its going to take forever because i don't use skill points to reduce research time. When I get enough mats I will prob get someone to make it for me. Also its pretty damn hard to get 2x molag kena but also working on that.

This build is easier to obtain and I found it sustainable. I don't think its better than yours and would really love to try both twice born star and molag kena x2. Just posting because eso server is down, lol. - Also I am wondering how you sustain with 2x molag kena? Are you using the dark exchange?

Race Choice: Dark Elf EP Faction. More fire damage and good magika bonus.

Gear Sets: UNDAUNTED PASSIVE ACTIVE using 2x Heavy Pieces.

Mundus stone: The theif for more crit chance. Healing is mostly done through Power surge and Tri Pots if in trouble since no healing skills or resto staff is used. DPS only.

Screenshot is buffed with power surge, boundless storm and mage light + blue tea for more health and magika regen while in cyrodill. DW BAR 370 CP

I'm a bit baffled how you can call this great sustain. Literally the only sustain apart from CP, light armor and race is one glyph. Your healing doesn't do any good when you can heal less often because you run oom. You even use webs, wich is considerably more expensive than Force Shock.
I don't say one can not sustain this, but calling it "great sustain" is simply far off reality.

Julianos is great for DPS but with crit builds being almost useless in pvp now, I find it better to go sustain over crit. Let me help you a bit with your build to help you sustain a tad more and in the long run produce more DPS.

If you don't necessarily want to go the self heals route like I did but want to keep your Destro staff run something like this. Make sure all your gear is enchanted with + Magicka.

    Head: Seducer (light)
    Shoulder: Seducer (Medium)
    Chest: Julianos (Heavy)
    Hands: Julianos (Light)
    Waist: Julianos (Light)
    Legs: Julianos (Light)
    Feet: Seducer (Light)

    Sword 1: Julianos (Nirnhoned)
    Sword 2: Seducer (Nirnhoned)

    Flame Staff: Julianos (Nirnhoned)

All armor pieces Divine. Chest and Legs can be Infused if you'd like extra Magicka or Impen for crit res.

If your are under 1500 Unbuffed but over 3200 Spell power Unbuffed add Magicka Regen to your necklace or one ring. Your goal is 19k-22k HP and 33k-38k Magicka Unbuffed with the cyrodiil buff. That way you can use Drinks to pop yourself past 2000 recovery. If that is the case change your mundus from Thief to Apprentice for your final boost of Spell Power which should push you upwards of 3500 unbuffed and 2k+ recovery.

I would suggest changing out Julianos for TBS so you can run Apprentice/Mage with this Seducer build. That will give you larger shields. You can even take away the Seducer shoulder or head and add a Molag Kena for increased Spell Power if 2k+ is a bit more recovery than you need.

    As quick observation....

imho the ritual is a waste of a mundus here.

As a sorc you are reliant heavily on shields, not heals. An additional 12% on your heals along isn't going to be that useful and a very niche use.

Better to go with anything else... thief would boost your heals AND your damage by a lot more. Shadow would buff the damage a LOT given your crit rate...

Hell even the mage would give more magicka and therefore more dps/heals & bigger shields. All better options than the ritual.

You'll struggle to find a build of any kind where the ritual is currently the best option.

P.S. Worth a look at the max magicka.... need to try and get that closer to the 40k mark to get the shields/dps up.

How to proc Kena with DW as a ranged Sorc???

You're right Healing Ward will not work on Overload bar. In fact attempting to use a weapon skill while in Overload will just switch it off. Molag Kena can proc from Overload Light attacks so DW isn't necessarily an issue. My main issue with DW is that you are left without a good ranged light attack forcing you to rely on your resto staff and Healing Ward for all Ult gain.

I'm not buying this build... at least not for fights that lost longer than 10 seconds. You need more cost reduction and regen to make Tangling Webs work as a filler spell over time, especially if you plan on proccing Molag Kena.

Also, I'm not seeing any "huge heals" with this build. Healing Ward is not enough when gankblades and WB spammers are gap closing you to death. And what about Major Sorcery? Will you get it from pots?

Not to be negative, but great sustain whilst running drinks isn't hard.

Food all day for a sorc. I'd rather use enchants to get my regen up and lost spell damage than lose the magica from food

No execute? I have ran Curse Frag and webs before, works well until you face a DK, and then every single dps move you have except the 3 second curse gets flapped back at you.

Boundless huh? Main bar too? I dunno bout that, kind of a waste on your main bar. Personally would exchange it to streak main bar, or execute. With huge wards comes very little use to boundless, and streak will always out maneuver boundless, not to mention huge against the nb spam.

Overall looks like the armor everyone wants.

thanks for the suggestion. I will definitely be trying tbs sometime soon. I do already have full seducer gear and used to run seducer for a long time but now that I have lots of champ points my cost of Magika is reduced a lot and I can use energy overload for sustain to build back Magika. I will also try dark exchange for vMA. But I really don't run out often since with weaving the Magika cost isn't that much and I love the extra damage and when I get a bit low I have pots.
