What can a DK do against cloak?

i do not have caltrops.

On my Sorc, its easy with boundless and curse and streak etc etc. But on my reroller DK i am having trouble finding the right tools.

What does a DK use against NB cloak?

There's an ability called ash cloud that does a similar thing to caltrops. Downsides are the area is much smaller and it costs magicka but it has an aoe and snare. Volatile armour has an aoe which pulls nearby enemies out of stealth or you could maybe use corrosive armour as an ultimate. Extended chains and talons can root them as well but they may teleport strike out of the root. If you are a stamina dragon knight it's a bit more difficult so steel tornado or arrow spray will pull them out. Hope that helps.

Fossilize when he pops, talons when he cloaks. Throw in an ash cloud if you like. Pop a detect pot if the nb some how manages to get out of range.

A DK should have no problem with an NB. So many tools.

I had been thinking of Volatile Armor myself, but the "nearby enemies" usually means really really close - as in 1 meter or so. Which would make it very hard to use really. Is the area larger than for example Boundless Storm ?

Had not thought about Talons. But as they do damage, i guess this would be a nice choice. With a root on top, if detection is succesful. Will try to go for that.

Why do you want to hit with Fossilize? NB will just CC break and cloak again?

Are there nothing like Curse to hit a NB with? Something that can be used while NB is out of stealth, to prevent him from going back to permastealth?

It stops them, then makes them burn there stam. Against magicka NBs it's devastating. It also gives you time to set talons. You have the ability to put Magicka NBs into a never ending CC chain, all magicka classes for that matter. another thing, you don't need to see them to hit them with talons.

Unstable Flame? Bit that will get purged when NB enters stealth, and you cannot hit a stealthed NB with it. Can you clarify how you would use Unstable Flame? Is it not cleansable by Cloak?

Talons.

You require no target and it forcefully locks a Nightblade in place even if hes in stealth (including every other enemy nearby) with the only way of getting out being to dodge roll.

I as a Nightblade who pvps in IC have fought against this many times and its annoying.

Volatile armor, inhale, burning breathe, talons. Those are what I use to pull them out of cloak.

Radiant Mage Light and Revealing Flare or Scorching flare. More realistically slot RML, and Talons sounds good for mag DK. For Stam DK I like caltrops and Bombard. Detect pots are probably the most effective still. You don't have to give up a skill slot and the NB doesn't know he/she is revealed and they get all panicked. Your stuns, roots, snares and gap closers should do the rest. If you can afford to give up the mag and skill slots RML is great.

My Magicka DK eats Magicka NB's for breakfast. Sometimes lunch too.

NB are the weakest opponents due to lack of selfheal. But caltrops is something you really need against them. Or a NB can run away.

My self heal, funnel health, can bring me to full after one or two cloaks. NB have a nice self heal and it is much better than GDB or surge and stam heals are super strong with vigor and rally.

I kill plenty as a Magicka DK. Group or solo, doesn't really matter. I've been experimenting with them lately, and they can do some damage. They aren't the OP Meta that is Sorcs and Nightblades *Wrecking blow spammers*. But you can still kill competent players as a Magicka DK.

The biggest problem a mag DK against Nightblades has is that you're prey for them. It's actually not about revealing them. A mag DK has almost no damage shields and the self healing is pathetic. A NB jumping you will continue to put pressure on you easily, and you will succumb eventually. Coupled with the lack of mobility, even when you manage to defend yourself, NB will just cloak and reset the fight. You can't chase the NB down. And then, even if you manage to track them down in 15 secs with your d-pot, magicka DK burst damage output is so abyssmal that you won't be able to finish off the NB if played properly. There is no such thing as "being a squishy Nightblade", you can thank Sap, Rally and Vigor for that.

You are more or less pushed towards using the hard counter Radiant Magelight. It will make it easier for you to survive the initial burst and track the NB down or shoo it away with your RML-protected allies. Sadly, it takes up two slots, which is ridiculous. And even if you can afford those two slots, it still deprives you of the damage bonus from Inner Light, adding insult to injury of what the current magicka DK's damage output is. Sure, you might live against a single NB, but you won't easily kill it, and you definitely won't kill a Sorc with your lousy damage. What's the downside to dark Cloak, which is an escape, damage mitigater, resource regainer and DoT purge? Right, none.

As I see it, Magelight itself should have a small reveal aura built-in in addition to spellcrit. Inner Light should add max magicka, and Radiant Magelight should enlarge the reveal aura and protect from stealth attacks.

Also, magicka DKs need some burst oomph. B-A-D-L-Y!

That is because you don't play on XB EU. My female Vamp mag DK Dunmer in Seducer costume would dance her suggestive Dunmer dance so long in front of you, that you would bleed to death out of your nose. HAH!
