New Player Advice

Recently started pvping in eso and I love it, thinks it's a very unique style of pvp but I suck at it. Got my first kill against a lv34 nightblade as a lv20 dk and thats it Im like 1-30 now so Im trying to refine my setup. I hate group play or I think its called zerging? (not sure) so Im trying to build around solo play. I mainly want to beable to survive most encounters or sustain myself well enough to survive. Not really looking for a set build because I want to end up making my own but skill recomendations would be awsome. Thank you

Don't knock group play till you try it.
Sometimes the most fun you can have are with friends.

With that said, explore your character's skills, try them all with respect to your dominant resource (magicka or stamina). Look at builds for suggestions and advice, then adjust to what you find fun.

If obsolute success at pvp is what you want, then practice makes perfect; builds will only help so much.

I highly recommend group play at first so you can get the hang of using your abilities in pvp, without getting killed by the first thing that sees you every time. When I first started pvp'ing I was level 45 and I would play solo. Since I would get wrecked by everything I ran into, I would almost travel from keep to keep in stealth the entire way LOL. Once you're a solid player you can comfortably run solo, but this is obviously for you to choose whether you want to play it safe for now, or just go balls out lol. As far as a build, I'm a magic sorc so I can't help you there.

If u really wanna be a purely solo PvP'er, I suggest u reroll Sorc or NB. DKs have no real escapes, so if u find urself outnumbered, which happens all the time in open world pvp, u're gonna die most of the time.

Thanks for the advice so far guys I might give goup play a try just to get used to the combat mechanics etc. I tryed playing around with nb/sorc but its just not my playstyle going stealth and such. Right now Im crafting heavy armor to add to my dk which should help (hes mostly stamina btw) Really dont want to depend on an escape tbh might sound stupid but I want to take the damage or die trying

You need to get the ability rally and vigor for heals, always run a food buff and your maximum stamina and weapon damage are you most important attributes for damage so pump me up!

Might sound stupid but is their a such thing as a health dk Ive heard about magic and stamina but not health or would that just be a tank?

Im gonna stop giving DKs so much grief, I mean they can be alright.

Im or was, exactly like OP. Then I found a PvP guild, so much fun with these guys! I still mostly go it alone, however the group can be tons of fun.

I also feel in love with PvP, just keep playing and learning, even after half a year im still learning tons.

I'm remaking my DK as a breton this time, but Magicka builds are still effective, at least for me on Xbox.
Vet 5 NB- Gaelwen Forestmire (Vamp(cured)/Stam)
Vet 1 Templar- Kozawah Incarnic (None/Magicka/Healer)
    Level 4 DK- Trecldur (Magicka)

Don't remake, just set aside. This is an MMO, so racial and other stuff will be subject to change.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Breton DK master race! I can proc 3200 spell damage, 42,000 max magicka, and 24,000 health in pvp at the same time like its nbd, and thats lacking the 2nd Kena piece and Maelstrom staves.

If you're going stamina you want all the medium armor passives, rally and vigor ASAP,also i wouldn't recommend playing solo at first try and find a small group to play with, oh and get ready for rage inducing lag sessions.

Which alliance do you play for? If it's the Pact, you are welcome in our ranks at Ebonheart Reborn. Ask for admission in the zone chat of BwB.

If you play for another alliance, well, you might find yourself in trouble in the wilds.

Still, I agree with the others. Stamina sorcerer or magicka NB is for solo playing. You should practice with your DK until 50, and thene change to a pvp build.
My Great House Telvanni did not join the Pact.
But it does not mean I don't want to be Emperor.
