Axes and how you bleed

ShawtyBlaze
I have currently seen many players in pvp using axes now instead of maces or swords. I have been on the receiving end of axes many of times currently on the na ps4 version of the game. I die to a bleeding effect from axes many of times, but since I play on ps4 I can not see when I get affected by the bleed affect. But anyways I was wondering is there a reason why so many players are using axes over other variations of the same weapon type?

Axes are bugged right now. My understanding is that it currently applies 100% of the time, but only 2 seconds after your last attack. If you attack before then, the timer resets.

With axes its a toss up - you get the debuff so its extra damage and it applies universally to all things that you damage (health, block builds, shields) but right now it only applies to targets when you can't make continuous contact.

Ultimately, I think maces are the better choice still for 2 hand, although one axe one mace for dual weild may be more effective.

    yip they do

as you can see between 22:59:02 and 22:59:06 bleeds previously applied before the shield is applied and applied on a functional shield are actually ticking.

Yeah, they're bugged and always apply the bleed, so they're really good right now. Honestly even once it's fix they should be pretty solid.

They are OK. Arguably maces are as good, since their damage bonus applies immediately.

Yes but it only applies bleed of you don't attack them for 2 seconds. It takes 2 seconds to activate.

But the bleed won't apply / proc on a target with a damage shield. If you hit them when the shield is down, the proc will apply and keep on ticking after they put a damage shield up.. but if no tick is running and you hit a shielded target, no bleed will start, afaik.

Looking in your log, that indeed seems to be the case.. light attack that caused the bleed was done when wards were down.

Same issue for Blood Craze / Rending slashes.

    Broken or exploit? ;)

Just use maces because they are working as intended so you don't have to cheat. You won't inflate the pvp arenas with fantasy dmg/kills via the mace/sword route.

on the first view you are right but: the bleeding ticks every 2 sec 59:03 before shield cast dot tic -> 59:05 still ticking dot on a casted shield but at 59:05 a new bleed is applied on the still existing shield by the 3558dmg attack the followed 5k attack is the crit charge of alphalex.

Also, it's not just light/heavy attacks that proc the bleed (abilities and bash can proc it also). Even when they fix the 100% proc chance and it's properly 16%, I think I'll have an axe on my 2h bar. That bleed puts a good bit of pressure on people to cleanse or heal.

22:59:01 Healing ward feeds from you
    ..
    22:59:03 You gain Bleeding
    22:59:03 You gain Healing Ward

    >> Here the bleed is before the ward

22:59:05 Healing Ward fades from you
    22:59:05 You gain Hardened Ward
    ..
22:59:06 Hardened Ward fades from you
    22:59:06 You gain Bleeding
    22:59:07 You gain Healing ward

    >> Looks like the bleed is also just between wards

So it looks to me that you only "gained bleeding" when the wards were down. Unless I missed something in the log.

that bug is tied to 2h as it seems. happens once in a blue moon with only one DW axe.
