Will PC users get voice chat?

I think distance based voice chat would be great on the pc because it would make some things much easier. Like lets say you need help with killing something and can't type due to getting your butt kicked. yell fr help see what happens?

I'm not convinced it's a good idea, I barely like people to begin with, hearing them and their lives beyond the people I group with would be really really awful.

One of the reasons myself and others want to pc transfer, we only play between ourselves because of this, but since there's only 3 that basically eliminates us from any endgame group content.....and by God do I need those kena shoulders.

Voice chat be a nice add in to the game to those who don't have TS but they do need to make it more user friendly than it is on console right now. E.X. being able to toggle it on off area chat and so on. Plus would make it easier for groups and all that instead of going through the hassle of setting up a TS line and all that.

One of the things dungeons and dragons online did well was voice chat. Voice chat should be implemented in all mmorpgs. Once a group is formed, voice chat is instant. Guilds can still use teamspeak or whatever, but for pve and cyrodil pugs there is no reason why it shouldn't exist.

Games should be enhancing and making it easier for users to communicate. Not be lazy and just assume people want or should use a third party program which requires coordination and maintenance. Gaming companies cut corners where they can to save a buck.

They need to spend their cash on fixing .. asdf... nearly every system in this game. I am even writing bug reports on the starter tutorials... bugs that have been there since the Betas in Setptember 2013.

Funny considering that the majority of people today do not even use their phones to talk voice, they text everything... but yet you suddenly think people are going to want to talk voice because it's a game? Personally, voice chat sucks and IMO is totally distracting. You're trying to focus on the game, on combat, and you have people having conversations or talking about everything OTHER THAN the game... totally distracting. It reminds me of people trying to talk on the phone and drive at the same time... studies have shown that this can be as dangerous as drinking and driving because reaction time is slowed because you are too busy focusing on the conversation instead of paying attention to your driving- same thing applies to gaming. How can you focus on combat when you're also trying to focus on the conversations in a group? This is why I refuse to voice chat, I learned my lesson in DCUO, being connected to a headset and listening to conversations totally ruined the game experience for me.

If there's a toggle for it then just toggle it off.

I would only find it useful in organized PvP raids, it is much easier when voice is built in-game and you don't have to make every single member to get TS/vent/mumble whatever, it takes time and others might not be bothered as they don't wanna fill their PC with software they might only use this once. It's there, just flip it on in the options and turn it off when done, no messing with connecting to servers, passwords, setting up microphone or audio settings etc. LoTRO had it and it was very well used among organized and semi organized groups. Even turning pugs into some kind of structured pvp was much easier to achieve.
Proximity/Guild chats? No way. Planetside2 showed me how totally obnoxious that can be. Kids putting up mics to their speakers while listening to crappy rappy or chewing gum or generally trolling out of boredom.

Voice chat has it's place, as long as it is not the primary means of communication and is entirely optional/situational.

In case everyone here willingly bashing console Voice Chat (I get it, people can be kids about it believe me so I understand your perspective) missed what OP said, OP simply wishes to experience the depth of in-game Voice Chat that no third party Voice Chat program like TeamSpeak can supply. For this I say there is nothing wrong with wanting that. In-game Voice Chat itself does have its issues but it is the players and not the voice chat itself that make it so painful to have on...

If they are going to implement voice chat then I would like it to only be usable in a group but have an option to turn it off, mute other players and so on. This way when I am playing alone then I do not have to hear everyone complaining about every little thing and talking about how other people suck.
