Stam NB can still work, you just need to really work on sustain a lot more than burst. My stamina NB still works, not as well as before, but it is still okay. I haven't really tweaked it much since before the update though, so I still have some other things to try and see if it helps with my build.

I think we can all agree that Stamina is the way for damage and Magicka is the way for healing.

That's what I gathered from the recent changes anyway.

why reroll nord? you can still go magicka. you have all awesome passives that is needed. Reduce dmg taken and max hp. its not useless passives. I think its an awesome combo

Yeah I understand.
Think of it positive, you are never "stuck" with magicka or stamina since you have none of those bonuses. Im an orc and are pretty much stuck with melee stamina.

Its getting harder and harder in both pvp and pve to be glass cannons, so hp is a must.

I personal have 4 vr16 characters so dont delete your current one atleast, just park it. But my opinion is: if you want to be a Nord, be a Nord, they are great :-) you cant go wrong.

Stam NBs are fine, the ones I come across do a butt-ton of damage with wrecking blow. They are squishy but the good ones still stay alive with dodge-roll and cloak. In the latest patch I am still more wary of a stam NB then a magicka NB.

Im not being spoonfed anything i make my own builds i use my gear all i was asking was if i should reroll not to be spoonfed or if im going magika i strictly prefer stam @Cthalion

My impression after the first few hours on PS4....

I'm having a rough time on my VR 13 Khajiit Stam NB.

I was more of a stealthy solo player. Get the first big blow in from stealth and burst them down quickly, then stealth again and find another target. Finally got a full Hundings Rage set to add to my 3 piece Ashen Grip and now...

It just does not feel effective at all. Fights last forever. Im in Thornblade, and came up on a keep we were sieging. We knocked the wall down so I go in. A VR 5 Magicka DK in light armor and I get into it. I unleash everything I have and maybe get him to 1/3 health, but he heals out of it. Then he comes at me but can't kill me either. Meanwhile NPC guards are hitting me and I still dont die. I stealth out of the keep and regen my resources. Go back in TWO MORE TiMES and the same thing happens. No one dies. I wouldve been dead in less than 15 seconds is I did this yesterday.

It just seems very watered down now. Stealth and surprise dont matter. 1v1 is boring. Idk, I'll keep working at it, but right now I am not enjoying this game as much as before. Its still new and Ill adapt, but I think the 50% damage reduction may have ruined PVP IMO

That's the biggest issue I have with the damage reduction. The stealth damage bonus barely means anything anymore.

It was a bug in PTS the was reported but not fixed until the last patch. It's in the patch notes.

Well this explains why I felt like I wasn't hitting quite as hard as I should be....

Every time I read the patch notes on all the things that they fixed... I just can't believe some things like this were broken in the first place!

I'm not sure how different PS4 is from PC, but if it's anything same, it will be getter rest assured! I am exactly the same kind of player as you, and trust me, stealth and surprise do matter, plenty. In fact, if I get a proper stealth attack off, it's almost a guaranteed kill for my nightblade. It was the same on PC at patch day too as you see, things are balanced for VR16 gear and characters. If your vr13 khajiit didn't have fights that last forever and ever now, that would mean by the time you're decked in high end gear fights would be over faster than you can say meow.

Another issue is the new battle-scaling, which means you can run into vr3 targets who have insane amounts of hp, think 40k. They will be tedious to take down without end game gear, but they also won't kill you. It gives them a bit more fair chance.

Have patience my console playing fellow.

Stam Nightblades are fine, quite fun too. You will want Vigor pretty quick though. Rally costs significantly more, at least it eats away my resources pretty fast. You will have to spec more into stam regen too now. But.. retreating manuevers+cloak+lots of corners+2400 stam recovery = get away like 80+% of the time, turn around, try again... lol.

I've been playing Stamina NIghblade since PC launch. For the first months it was the hardest build to play cause it was the weakest. I believe it was in 1.5 when the stam nightblade builds became viable. My feeling has always been play what you want, not what's best.

In 1.6 I finally got my build where I liked it after lots of trial and error. I use Bow/2H or Bow/DW depending on what I feel like. Here are my thoughts on IC release vs 1.6 and how viable the build is.

In PVE, after IC my weapon damage was heavily nerfed due to set armor having SD/WD nerfed. I had to swap a bunch of enchantments around, respec, and redo my champion points, finally got my build back to where I like it. Still have a bit of an issue with regen, but I'm trying siphoning strikes to improve that. At this point I have pretty much no issue in non cyrodiil PVE. I will say the first night after IC dopped, we fought Bogden and my DPS was 3500, that was pretty disappointing.

I found when fighting large mobs, Brawler was a good skill for me, the damage shield would give me enough protection to take down large mobs. However in Cyrodiil/IC Brawler is pretty much useless. The damage shield is super weak (900 points per hit in PVP zones vs 2000 points per hit in PVE zones)and the in-coming damage of the Cyrodiil/IC mobs outpaces it by far. I used to be able to solo PVP resources, was tough but doable, can't even come close now.

In PVP vs other players, I find I do way better now after IC patch. Before the patch most of the time I was dead before I even saw my health bar move, now I have time to actually react to fights.

The only time I seem to die now in PVP combat is against larger groups. Need more practice I guess. 1v1 I do pretty well most of the time, unless the other player is a DK. My death recap looks like this "Talons, Talons, Talons, Talons". Dodge roll to break free of it costs so much stamina, I run out and can't do any attacks or any break frees. If someone has a suggestion on how to defeat that I would love to hear it. Note: If you have a suggestion and you are a DK and don't want to share it I will understand

Best suggestion I have for anyone is just do what is fun. One of my chars is a wood elf sorc , which at one point wore medium armor, used axe and shield. Was that a great build stat wise? No. Was it fun? For me yes. Had a blast playing that.
