how to remove postfix of names from api calls

For example if I call GetItemLinkName I would likely to get something like "rough beech^ns" instead of "Rough Beech", or "ironhide helmet^n" instead of "Ironhide Helmet". Is there a way to remove those postfix and uppercase the first char of each word so that it is consistent with the displayed ones?
