Sorc help please

I have been around a while and while I enjoyed the non-Vet PvP and the open beta PvP right now I seem to be hitting like a wet paper bag and being killed by any Nightblade who wants to assassinate me. Some people claim Sorcs are over powered and un-killable so I am trying to work out what I am doing wrong. So I am hoping someone can help me with what I am doing wrong.

Lv 14 Argonian Sorcerer using a resto staff
What should my load out be? I understand I need Crystal blast, Shield and some healing probably BOP?
What crafted set would work best to allow me to survive more than a few minutes?
Why do I only seem to have a crappy shield when other people talk about a 14K shield?
Are summoned pets any use at all or are they a complete waste of time?

    lol just kidding,

So from my other thread, Think about keeping Hardened Ward and Dampen Magika up along with Healing ward if you get in trouble.

Then cast your instant proc crystal frags with light attack weave. Mages Wrath when they get low. Streak for movement + stun/damage. then hit your dawnbreaker of Smiting.

Just keep your shields up till you get your ult up.

yeah I figured that picked the race because I like Argonian's if only I had released how much shitter I would be than a Breton, high elf, imperial .... Orc I would be :(

Wish I had made 1 char for PvP and any group content and another that I actually want to play.

Any specific reason? Not exactly sure why it's a bad thing for him to get a basic idea of the class?

Its ok, once you realize the mechanics of a sorc its not that big of a deal. Your basically going to shield stack 24/7 throw out instant crystal frags and drop ults. Thats it. Use streak to get you in and out of trouble.

Streak + roll dodge is a good combo.

If your a vamp, which you should be. Streak + Mist form + dodge roll.

Sypher is a good player, but he's still learning how to build a Sorc so he hands out bad advice. Deltia is a good player too, who also gives bad advice.

It short, neither of them are actually Sorcs, yet.

Don't tell anyone I said this, but you want Crystal Frags, not Blast for PvP.

Ive found their advise to be sound. The trouble is when people try to copy them exactly and dont "adjust" those builds to their play style. They are a good source for someone that doesnt know anything about the class to get the basics. Just dont try to copy them exactly.

Personally I use them as a baseline to start my builds from. I dont agree with everything they say so my builds/playstyles always end up different but they have nuggets of truth in them.

Don't call players and essential members of the community out on the forums. It just makes you look bad.

If you're going to consistently talk down about both Sypher and Deltia -- two talented players -- then do so in whispers, so they can /ignore you for your unjustified harassment. Both of them are a major reason for ESO's popularity and trash-talking them only makes you look like an ***.

Thanks for the advise is there any suggestion on which crafted set to go for. I keep thinking extra health, armour and healing but I don't seem to last that long regardless.

@AshTal you can get a good start watching videos by the content creators noted above. Ignore the disparaging remarks about them, those guys are boons to the eso community. And yes, pet builds can work - check out Bolterity to see that in action (though I'm not sure how it's running in the latest patch). Also check out King Richard's sorc builds.

In short, the idea is to maximize your max magicka and your spell damage while retaining a decent amount of sustainability. In terms of play, the un-killable reputation you mentioned is due to sorcs making use of multiple damage shields as active defense - you can shield spam while taking damage and apply pressure back on your foe. Specifically the main part of that is running healing ward, which if protected by your other shields can bring you back to full health from nearly zero in a few seconds.

The [magicka] sorc weak spot is typically their stamina pool, so you'll want to carefully manage it. In 1.6, burst damage got so high you pretty much had to CC break everything immediately because you could die from a single rotation, or even just 1 or 2 abilities. So far due to the damage nerf of the IC patch, you can be more selective whether to CC break or not, if your shields are up and you don't have too many attackers on you.

SHOTS FIRED! And yes it's good to take advice from Sypher...those of us who have fought him on his Sorc know he is very legit...have to work really hard against him. I mean ppl wouldn't watch his stream if he wasn't an OP player LOL. I think if u said it to his face u might get the Dawnbreaker...dunno if u want to kick the nest friend...

Develop your own playstyle. So many sypher and king richard clones I see on xb1 that get rekt. I would certainly recommend checking out their channels for guidance but don't feel you have to run something just because.
