Anyone running solo or in small group still using AOE in IC?

I'm not interested in PVE and I'm not interested in gathering up more than 3 other people to find some PVP as my time is limited. I've found that I've basically had to abandon all AOE because of the shatstorm of NPCs it brings down upon me. How am I supposed to find NBs now? The AOEs that I'm abandoning aren't even being used for damage but for their secondary buffs and it is a real pain to have to get rid of them. Anyone else making similar decisions to skip all forms of AOE as long as you aren't running in a large group?

Magelight, detect pots, pvp flare, targetble aoe (like the Templar illuminous shards skill).

I have four or five abilities I would rather slot, but can not find room for, than something like RML which is only necessary for fighting one class. PVP Flare is the same story but in an even more terrible format. Lots of targeted AOE leave a ground based dot which will grab plenty of NPC aggro. Detect pots seem to be the only way but are expensive unless you're out there picking flowers yourself.

Hard choices. Might be worth looking into enjoying group play. If your current guilds don't have many members, deal pve or pvp with active membership. As much as we all want solo or 3 player group play, this game still relies on player guilds for the economy and finding players for trials/dungeons.
