An idea for a recurring PvP Tournament.

While I understand there are a lot of PvP changes coming very soon, this is an idea for sometime in the future and I'd like to know players views on it.

Before I get into it: My intent is to not pull players away from the Alliance War in Cyrodiil and the Imperial City, hence why I said in the title "recurring" meaning it's not something we can do every day.

So I'll start with a little Lore in my explanation. We are aware of some Daedric Princes having a single Champion, for example, in TES V: Skyrim you have Boethiah's Ebony Mail that you "acquired" from the previous Champion. Now in ESO we have PvP, and that situation Boethiah put you in during TES V: Skyrim where you fight in a pit until you're the last one standing could be imitated to resemble a PvP dual or even Tournament situation. Where the Champion(A player) could acquire the Ebony Mail and the Title of Boethiah's Champion.

Once a player has became Boethiah's Champion they'll fight with the Ebony Mail in the next Tournament Final and challengers will fight in the next Tournament to get a chance at fighting the Champion to acquire the Ebony Mail and Boethiah's Champion title. However, if the current Champion is absent to defend the title at the next Tournament Final it becomes forfeit and the winner of that Tournament replaces them. That's the gist of it anyway.

I'd prefer sticking to 1v1 battles all the way to the Final, similar to some Tournaments we have in sports today. As for a time frame, like I said before I don't want to pull players away from the Alliance War and hurt that content, so this would probably be something that happens once every 3 months or less, maybe even annually.

I've left out another part on how I'd want the Tournament entry etc. to work because I realise that it's just an idea at the moment and I'd like a more open discussion about actually having a Tournament. So feel free to discuss if you would like to see a PvP Tournament and provide any suggestions on how you think it could be implemented in future.

Thanks for reading!

    Excellent idea
Boethiah's quest in Oblivion was a contest between the PC and some NPCs to become Boethiah's Champion and acquire Goldbrand so its not just Skyrim that provides previous game backing for the idea
Also an interesting way to put a powerful Daedric artifact in the game without everybody and their uncle eventually owning it

Babeester Gor is the Axe Goddess, the Implacable Anger, the Avenging Daughter and the Earth Guardian.
    Vriddi gra-Yildnarz, Dragonknight and Smith
    Myrvanwe, Sorcerer and Enchanter
    Tsajirra, Nightblade and Clothier
    Vilvyni Indarys, Dragonknight and Woodworker
    Arielle Alouette, Templar and Provisioner
Fishes in Troubled Waters, Nightblade and Alchemist
Shanika Some Long Title I'd Change If I Could, Templar and Aspirant Jeweller
Pippi Longhorn, Nightblade, Ne'er-do-well, and "Tribute" character
    EU PC.

They need to implement that arena that they announced in 2014... So many players want arena style pvp, pretty sure they're saving it for a paid DLC

Seems like a great idea! I've played a f2p called Mabinogi with a jousting tournament and each night it would start then on every sunday the best jousters would joust to see who would be crowned winner. It was all automated. I can see this being an automated thing that happens. I wouldn't like to see champion points or level being an issue though. I know GW2 has a way of instancely putting someone at max level in the arena area and giving them set templates and skills temporarily for pvp, but not doing the same in AvA. We could totally use something like that, maybe. Anyway seems like a great idea.

The alliance war is nothing but a Dothraki horde zerg-fest anyway. Bring on the ARENA where you can live and be a champion or die with honor!
