Question about leveling Assault/Support tree

Do ALL quests in Cyrodill help level the trees? Or just the quests that come from the noticeboards?

Alliance points advance the alliance war skill lines. You don't get AP for doing quests out in the zone, but you do get a bit of AP for doing the alliance quests at the gates.

Is this the same if you have an alliance skill from said skill lines on your bar? Because isn't that how you get a lot of levels when questing in pve. So it's completely different in pvp?

Can't believe I wasted those hours in cheydinhal for nothing!

The skill ranks themselves level with experience points, only the skill line ranks level with alliance points, as was pointed out by @Draxys.
