i just turned level 50 or Vet rank 1 and tried out pvp in a vet-campaign. and oh wow, i was getting hit by crystal frags for 10k+ and dieing relatively fast.
couple of questions:
1) is this how pvp is at vr14?
2) is there something i can do to help me live/kill better in the vet-campaigns
3) should i just grind pve till im vr14?
thanks.
Never Leave Blackwater Blade. Keep making/remaking characters and enjoy the fun over and over again. Many players do this on PC.

vet server PvP is a joke. do not waste your time with it. Its nothing but people taking advantage of infinite resource mechanics
I really don't think having a lot of resources is the problem on Live vet PvP.. the problem is the huge damage spikes even without stealth. Builds that have such huge damage, do not have infinite resources, they run out of magicka/stamina, they just kill you before they do.
An infinite resource build has about 1300 spell damage/1800 weapon damage, and isn't able to burst people down even on Live. High resource builds will be even weaker in the next patch, since they'll be doing even less damage. But they are good in groups where you can just spam weak heals endlessly without having to recover magicka with heavy attacks or waste gold on potions.
The builds with infinite resources are fun to play, but they are the weakest builds out there. You do not have infinite resources if you build for damage, even if you have tons of CPs. That is some lame myth frustrated people have spread. If you have say, 1300-1400 stamina/magicka recovery, you WILL run out of resources in half a minute. You need 2300 at least to be able to keep spamming medium-cost skills, and builds with 2300 use drinks and recovery set bonuses and have no damage.

right when I quit about 3 months ago. Based on what I have read so far in the forums and from patch notes, not much has really changed:/ I still see the same complaints and the same "nerf X" threads.
Have you played them recently? if so, what do you think is the main issue? I am eager to hear your opinion.

Well i didn't say there WAS an issue. But if I were to expand/comment on the OP's post, I would talk about weapon or spell damage stacking, so the exact opposite of "infinite resource builds". This has been the meta for a long time, more than 3 months.
However, almost any build can sustain its resources if played in the right way, used by someone with a brain who doesn't just roll his/her face on the keyboard.
I'm not quite sure where the moan about "infinite resources" came from, nor why it would belong on a thread that is essentially bemoaning high burst...

pretty much all of these issues, whether it be stacking weapon damage or seemingly endless sustainability, I think. is due to the lack of soft caps. Now imbalances are more rampant and obvious across the game. it was not like this pre 1.6; at least not to this extent. the worst thing about pre 1.6(aside from zerg blobs and massive lag) were block casting LA DKs soloing entire raids. I am starting to wish this game reverted to 1.5....

You just said you haven't played for 3 months....you're not equipped to judge the game. If you're doing so by what you see on the forums, of course you have a bad impression. Judging a game by its forums is sure fire why to convince yourself the game is awful (and lose all faith in humanity)
TBH you're talking quite a lot of rubbish so if you're gonna continue to post opinionated posts on the forums, I would recommend playing the game in current patch. You're making yourself sound silly (the "issues" of stacking wd/sd and "limitless resources"....pfff)

Eh?!
This exchange seems to be descending into drivel so i'm going to sign out. Have fun!

Additionally, you should note that these builds are usually "glass cannon" and sacrifice a lot to be able to pull off such a quick kill. They are stuck in a certain playstyle by their choices. You're free to copy these choices if you wish to join them.
Standing around in the open, in light (even medium) armor, not in stealth, appearing to be alone, with no shields or other defences up, SHOULD mean death in cyrodil. That deserves a Darwin award.

HA!
You may see me dancing around "alone" in my nickers, out in the open, and taunting you... I assure you, you'll be the one dying.
I'll wager you've never heard of "RED RORY OF THE GLEN" have you? :P
