The only issue I see about shields being critable is the shield have no resist and small shields will be royaly screwed with that change like blazing or ing shield if they inc hp by 15% 20% and made sheilds scale off hp everybody wins ttk is increased but not absurdly shields will be strong but not absurdly and plus with all the new defensive sets and group sets they don't need to flat out nerf damage seriously that set that reduces damage by 35% when cced on top of zos 50% damage reduction on top of vampire passive is insane

NBs have a spamable get out of jail free card that unlike bolt escape and it's morphs have no "Next shadow cloak cast with in 4 secs cost %50 more and is stackable." Right? Oh and the change so far to the damn abilitiy to make it where single target attacks get nullified when using shadow cloak and it's morphed abilities. Not to mention have much more love NBs are getting at the expansion launch. Lol why play any other class other then NB or Templar? But you know what lets make sorcs useless yet again, well not totally useless but none the less just about useless. And actually a NB healer might actually be able to keep up with a Temp healer after the patch. Need a group on the PTS to test this theory of mines tho.
You can't really do any change to shields until you fix the overflow problem. Right now smaller shields actually increase the amount of damage you take from a big hit, instead of decrease it. No one should ever use the frost staff heavy attack for example, that passive is a death sentence.
Casting Igneous Shield basically increases the damage your entire group takes, a disaster. It increases your healing sure, but what is the point of that if your team also takes a lot more damage because of it. The more often you cast it, the more damage your team takes, it's almost like friendly fire. It's like a group debuff that sets their armor and spell resistance to 0.
There is no way you can nerf damage shields until the overflow bug is fixed. Sure Sorcs will be easier to kill, but an entire game mechanic will be rendered not only useless but detrimental to any build. What gets people worried is that ZOS won't even acknowledge this problem, let alone fix it.
