Generic Magicka Sorc Nuke Build

DarthSeverus394
So I recently rolled a sorc, and from what ive seen, the generic nuke or spike damage build in pvp is crystal frags, velicous curse, either mages fury or force pulse to proc frags, hardened ward, healing ward, and meteor. Is that about right? Any variations I should know about?

You'll want to use Entropy for the 20% spell damage bonus. It also costs next to nothing and is useful for proccing frags

Thats pretty much the core abilities every sorc roll nowadays, unfortunately.

You can swap some utilities, such as mines, harness magicka, overload for third bar, or even that toggled armor for more magicka.

Entropy is actually a really good idea I didnt think about that. Beautiful. Since I got a response from some sorcs, do either of you know if there are viable pet builds? From what ive seen theyre tankier dps. Heavy armor. Clanfear and matriarch both morphed for health, curse (or maybe entropy) frags, ward, storm atronarch or even meteor again. With variations using lightening ball to absorb dmg. While still technically being able to run a bastion/thaumatauge build to get your frags and ward up high. Anything sounding like it might work? Just looking to experiment outside of the nuke template build. Thanks for all your input.

I've never messed around with a pet build outside of PvE. You would be using up 2 slots on your bar for pets which is a big sacrifice for 2 creatures who are only going to be used for the buffs they provide. You would be a bit tankier, but I think you'll find you get plenty of survivability from just having Hardened Ward, Dampen/Harness Magicka and Healing Ward.

Gotcha. I wonder if you morph the clanfear to explode if you can get his explosion dmg high enough to run him as a kamikaze spike dmg. Hmm. Septimus I like the looks of it but not having ward on both bars seems like a bad idea to me. As fast paced as pvp can be sometimes and how quickly you can become overwhelmed I wouldnt feel safe not having atleast one survivability skill on my main bar.

the explosive pet build was actually a diverse build a while back, before the nerf bat hit. the explosion part use to deal half-decent AOE damage, AND AOE stuns, AND give resource back.

In crowded fights just cast the pet and "Y" it to the opponent, let it explode and watch ppl kneeling down. Barely kills anyone though, everybody could see it coming, its more for the lulz :p .

Ahh I miss the times when sorc can have more builds than just bubbled blinkers :(

Yeah thats the problem im finding is lack of build diversity. I have a templar to play on to open up challenging and varying builds, but rolled this sorc because from what I can tell sorcs and nb's run this game. Problem is its a cookie cutter build.

Streak is also a defensive skill so dont worry too much.

I used to play with hardened ward on my main bar but its actually harder to stay alive and you do less damage. If you need to switch bars in between the shields you loose quite a lot of survivability because half of hardened ward is gone in the time it takes to switch bars. If you get attacked and suffer damage to your health, first cast healing ward and follow with harness and hardend ward. Now you can switch back and burst your enemy down without having to worry about your health bar.

Edit: clannfear, curse and prox deto could be a pretty strong combo. Im not sure how much damage the clannfear explosion does in pvp but I like the idea.

Try a high spell damage build with DW/resto, is very fun but a little harder to play. Sypher has a build video, just switch the 2x adroitness and 2x cyrodiils light for 4x healer to get better sustain.
