Just gone VeT on my Stamina DK - Need massive advice. Really would appreciate it.

Since June the 6th and the release of ESO to console I have played on the Non-VeT campaign Blackwater Blade on european servers everyday for many many hours.

What I had being doing, being co-leader of a very active Blackwater Blade pvp guild, is re-rolling characters as soon as they got towards VeT level, to continue playing on the campaign I had built a reputation on as being one of the best players around, along with being able to play with the same group that had been pretty much doing the same.

Well.... collectively as a guild we have decided we are going to grind characters to VeT 14, and move to the Chilrend campaign.

My problem is. I built a stamina based Dragon Knight. I had a lot of fun with him, and I mean a lot of fun. Had 1 vs 1 duels with pretty much every decent reputable player in the server and won, and built a rep for being an absolute beast on him.

Well it's my time to start grinding, and I handed in my bounties on my Stam dk, and it turned me to VeT 1 on him... so I don't even have the option to play with him on Black Water even if I wanted to, and to be honest, I'm not sure I will be playing non vet pvp again.

I feel quite bummed out about it all really, mainly because I'm not sure of the effectiveness of stamina dk's on vet pvp, and he is a nord, so if I were to even want to go magika on him I would likely make a dark elf, as nord aren't the best for magika.

Not only that.... but despite parts of stamina being nerfed, I've always had my heart set of taking a stamina nightblade into vet 14 pvp, and making him an absolute machine. I'm pretty sure he could be more effective than a vet 14 stam dragon knight, but before I waste my time grinding to vet 14, I wanted to get other people's views about stam dk's in vet dk's.

With my level 47 stam night blade, I know I can always reroll him at any time into magika based depending on how the updates go. But this wouldn't be the case for the stamina dk

That feeling. I'm also avoiding the vet campaigns for as long as possible. Mostly because I love BwB. Anyway... I don't know anything about Stam DKs but this guy is probably one of the best and he wrote a very detailed post about it.

I started playing on console release and I play a nord stam dk myself. While Im no where near what I would consider great (still trying to learn 1vX pvp), I would say Im better than average. Early vet lvls suck because the battle scaling is different but around the vet 6 mark things seemed to become alot easier. Ive never played a NB or sorc but @ Vet 9 DK I dont feel severely underpowered (with few exceptions, possibly due to my low CP and the fact that Im still learning) just feel like I can improve on eliminating my mistakes. Most of my deaths are from pushing too hard or getting jumped and outnumbered. Rarely lose 1v1 and even beat higher levels more often than not.

But anyways I may not be the best to take advice from but as a fellow DK, that has been my vet-PVP experience so far.

Yeah I've seen a lot of Aethca and i think she was/ is the most skilled Stam DK I've seen, but as Xael says I think that play type is getting nerfed, but it's certainly not putting me off a stam DK.

I'm not going to lie though Xael I don't like Lefty's play style. I saw you comment on someone else's forum post similar to mine, nearly commented on it but decided to lease it.

I've watched a few of his videos and I can't see anything special about what he does.
He calls videos 1 vs X but most of the time he is running away, dragging single players 1 vs 1 situations, killing them, completely recovering and dragging the next, to me it's more like back to back 1 vs 1's than 1 vs X, and I also feel his playstyle isn't very liquid, seems very slap dash. Relies on magika far too much for my liking also.

Ive even told him this on his videos and he was gracious enough to put his point across which I respected. Might just be me, but don't see it as an improvement on my own play type at all but I do appreciate that he is a good player, I just have the confidence to believe with the right time invested into my gear and build, and the right CP allocations, I myself could achieve bigger and better things :')

I juse wanted a push in the right direction and to have the feeling it was worth me investing my skills into a stam DK and not rerollin a dark elf magika one. I've had a lot of people reach out to me and I'm now in the process of grinding Alik'r's Desert.

Standing in front of someone trading punches isn't the smartest way to go about things. He does 1vX all the time. Also dragging people away from a zerg, using terrain, making space, etc, is the hallmark of a tactician. I do this and most people who have a grasp of these things naturally take advantage of this. To each their own, but Aetcha's style is very one trick pony and that pony got sent to the glue factory. Not taking anything away from what she does, just stating the obvious.

Also you are comparing your experience in the non vet newbie campaign to that of a seasoned pvper who plays in a harder hitting less forgiving atmosphere. Your superimposed ideas of your player skill versus his are kind of laughable considering you are vr1 and just started pvping in the non vet. It's nowhere near the same. I am not taking a shot at you, just pointing out the pink elephant in the room. You cannot compare your non vet easymode experience to something like vet cyrodiil. More importantly your imaginative future is just that, imaginative. Hit v14 and before the new patch and then come back and repeat that above paragraph

I completely agree with what you're saying. I'm not even going to argue your points on me being a newbie in VeT campaign where it is a whole different ball game, but I look at it like this..... Non Vet PVP is as well balanced as it gets.

There are no champion points, gear is ineffective, and it's all down to player skill. My logic is, if I can go 1 vs 5 in a non vet campaign and win, a place where everything is balanced....when im in VeT campaigns at VeT level 14.... cuz believe me I will be level 14 by the weekend, when I have grinded CP and full gear, where I will be immensely over powered to most of these people running around on Console EU server at like vet levrl 1-6, im pretty sure I will be doing some serious gankin.

I can't be certain about this, but the reason I'm this confident is because when I want to achieve something, I rarely fail, be it at work, personal hobbies, or even computer games, I get it done.

I've already got my head around the combat machinics of the game and play my chosen class very well, so I really don't see why I would fail at this when it's all already layed out for me for the taking.

You may say I seem imaginative, but if you don't have big goals or an imagination, you won't achieve big things. I've already seen some of my NB friends go into VeT pvp after playing non vet for 2 months then grinding vet 14 in 3 days.... and completely gank out players that are apparently considered good on the console servers.

My friends have faith in me, I have faith in myself and my desire to be up there with the best. All that is preventing me from doing this is a heavily grinded character and some serious determination.

To begin with I will likely lose a lot..... but you need to lose to win, and with every battle I will get stronger and stronger as I constantly adapt to my new environment.

As I said, Sue me for being confident, but it's my winning mentality which makes me stand above others and helps me to achieve my goals and to not give up, even when people try to put me down

Thanks for your advice though. The fact you haven't launched into me I admire. I shall come back to you and tell you how it goes mid way through next week when I'm vet level 14 with 150 CP

You are correct on a lot of this. I said imaginative because it has not happened yet and it's just what you envision, not real yet. I dont agree about non vet campaign being balanced, I hate that form of PvP and it's lack of realistic combat really kills it for me. To each their own though. I am also pretty sure CPs do work there, at least those not bound by a certain type of cap. It's too bad you are on console EU, I would love to run my DK along with you if you are vr14 by the weekend

By the way, once you get to about 300 CP it really falls off. CP are the "go to" boogeymen scapegoats for people's bad decisions or ignorance. As a Stam DK you are going to make Cyrodiil your toilet if you play right

Check out Kodi's stam DK play on the PTS for a strong dueling build. Most dueling builds will be pretty similiar as there is a certain skill set that is effective.

From EU Yuke has a strong 1 v X playstyle and very effective S/B ad DW set up. YOu can see his vid in the PvP section.

Lefty is optimised for small group and the role he plays (disruptor/peeler). Does it very well.

I don't think you will see a lot of stam DK 1 v X though, as DK lacks mobility/escape, which is really the cornerstone of 1 v X.

You could probably do some interesting things with vamp, and never underestimate the power of the WW ultimate if you practice it.

I'm about to role my second dk, a stam dk but I am having trouble deciding best race for PvP. Contenders are:
- Imperial (+10% stam, +12% health, passive chance for health restore)
- Orc (+4% dmg, + 6% stam/health, 30% health regen)
- Kahjit (+8% crit, 10% crit dmg from stealth, 10% stam regen 20% health regen)
- Bosmer (+21% stam regen, 10% dmg from stealth)
- Dunmer (+6% stam, 7% fire dmg, +10% magica)
- Reguard (+10% stam, 9% stam regen, passive for change of stamina restore)

Leaning towards the Orc atm, but opinions welcome.
