Don't get me wrong I can't get enough of Cyrodiil but the constant zerging doesn't really allow me to use my skills without limitations. It always comes down to who has the bigger army really. Yea there are some instances where some strategically placed siege can wipe out a whole group but that happens maybe every now and then, and even so I would rather beat them down with my character and not have to rely on siege weapons.
I can also go with smaller groups and go ganking/force fighting (which is what I really enjoy) with passing groups but the amount of time waiting is usually long and tiresome. And if some small scale fights happen there is always a chance a group (friend OR foe) can just run by and ruin the skirmishes by just wiping them clean.
2v2, 3v3, 5v5 would literally be a true testament to how skillful players really are. With teams factions can fight their allies as well which would always be a plus since I would LOVE to fight some friends who talk too much smack. Now of course there will be limitations concerning veteran ranks but that is also an easy fix. Just how they separate campaigns between lowbie/veterarns the same could be done with arenas. For example have a non veteran (obviously since the general population on console atm is probably still under veteran), and then a V1-V4, V5-V9 and V10-V14. Like this teams can fight equally strong opponents and not have to worry about what level they are currently at.
Of course with Imperial City coming out next month there will be more small scale combat which is a GREAT step in the right direction. I will definitely be satisfied with that for a while but there will always be an itch for TRUE competitive combat. But for now I guess I will have to stick to hoping other like minded competitive players like myself meet me in the open fields of Cyrodiil....Maybe one day. I hope...
once you add instanced pvp, class imbalances (inevitable with mmo) will be talk of the community, might poison all fun.

It'll never happen. It would be the end of cyrodil and you think cp advantage is bad now. Holy group of high cp guys face rolling would be unreal. This game lives and dies with large scale pvp being the staple of the game.

But most people are impatient with taking the time to learn other classes and their counters and would rather just complain about it for nerfs.
