Entropy good for sorc pvp? And what to swap it in with

Hi all,

Been toying around with sorc for PVP:

Currently have:
Desto staff bar 1
Bound Ageis
Thundering Presence
Crystal Fragments proc morph
Liquid Lightning
Mages Wraith
Overload as ultimate

Resto staff on other bar.

Would Entropy be a good swap in? Or possibly magelight?

Yes to both and dump the Destro Staff for Dual Wield swords with the Sharpened Trait.
You don't use any destro abilities, you may as well have more Spell Damage from Dual Wield.
Put lightning form (I prefer Boundless Storm speed is too good) on your Resto bar, get rid of bound aegis, replace those with Structured Entropy and Radiant/Inner Light.

Or... you can put Structured Entropy on your Resto Bar so your Healing Ward will function better. SE will give you more Health, so swapping to the bar it's on will shift your Health pool thus give you more missing Health so when you are switching to heal, you will get a bigger shield from Healing Ward. I assume you are going to use Entropy for the Major Sorcery buff. If so, yes, do it.

In that case, would I be spamming mages wraith? I used the desto staff because its a ranged attack. I messed around with crushing shock, but it looked like mages wraith was overall better when I looked at the specs. I just feel that I am too squishy to get upclose in the event that mana runs low (Not very often)

I honestly like entropy because not only would the structured morph give me major sorcerery, I want to increase survivability with the self heal, instead of clinging to dear life by switching bars and spamming resto heal onmyself hoping I dont die.

The heal you are going to rely most on is your Healing Ward from the Restoration line.

Regarding spamming, I am not a fan of MW spam. The damage is weak, even with 3k Spell Damage. Personally I would put Velocious Curse on your main bar and use that. Couple it with MW if you want, or Inevitable Detonation from the Alliance War Assault line. Regardless I would use Curse. MW/EF is good for a finisher. It's probably my favorite execute in the game.

You don't need to be dw if you don't wish to. It is the optimal choice though (for max magicka/Spell Damage), particularly if you are not using any destro abilities. However you can make anything work if you are good enough. I recommend you toy around with various things and find out what works for you. Curse will help keep a decent pace and pressure.

Crushing Shock and Endless Fury are no contest, the latter will do more damage when target's health is under 20%, otherwise Crushing Shock will deal way more damage.

Crushing shock also has more utility since it provides an interrupt on enemy's who are casting

Not gonna lie dual wield sorcerer sounds really cool. Played around with a 2hand sorc for a bit, was really fun. I miss it. I just dont want to gimp myself because I have alot of desto staff passives and what not. Not overly worried about my build because I feel like AvA is about tactics, and situational awareness, with character stats being secondary. Glad to see the positive side of the community here however. I do keep hearing that about crushing shock, that interrupt would be rather useful and probably prevent a few deaths.... Im only a few levels away from unlocking the teleport move which looks like even more fun

I keep it OG with the staff. Light weaving, resource restore and heavy attack burst potential too valuable to me.

For damage I run crushing shock, curse, frag, mages fury*and streak. If you like BoL you can put that on your healing bar and put something like entropy on your main bar.

I really think I need to add curse back. Its a hard hitting move thats for sure. Its on my overload bar. I may actually do that. I would honestly use it to retreat, and maybe respec lighting form for extra speed so I can chase down runners if need be. I just want to be able to keep health up while on offensive mode. If i get hit hard it takes me too long to switch to the other bar and start spamming the heal on myself

I dont use entropy. Better off to use a tri-pot that gives major sorcery, spell crit, and +20% magic recovery for 40 secs and 1 potion cool down enchant guratees 100% uptime. You will do more damage and its better in every way. Then you can put something better then entropy on your bar. Just my 2 cents

I'd still use it for basically a free CF and might of the guild proc, entropy costs literally almost nothing.

And you can use pots for tri regen or detect or vanish. Crazy right?
