Level 50 - Some questions!

I'm a dragonknight and I've just hit level 50 and I'm not really sure what to do next. I haven't really been doing anything else apart from completing the zones and doing quests so I have left a lot of my trade skills behind and I haven't leveled them at all

As a dragonknight I want to be doing DPS so I guess I need to start working on a good build along with getting some new items. For DPS should I be using medium armor? Any suggestions on what build to go for? Should I go 2h or dual wield?

What's the end game like in ESO? I really have no idea what I should be doing now. Do I run dungeons for better gear or should I be making the gear myself?

So many questions but I'm confused

If you have finished the main story then you have Cadwell's Silver and Gold to do, then Craglorn. Do the Pledges to level your undaunted but save any Gold Keys for when you hit V14...errr...V16
No need to worry about sets really until you hit max so stick with the crafted, imo. You can level most of it by just deconning all the items you get in your travels.

I'll leave the build stuff for someone better at it than me lol

You aren't anywhere near endgame, you still have two alliances to go. Start Cadwell's Silver, if you're bored of questing try pledges or PvP.

If you want to be stamina DPS, then yes, medium armor will be best. You could actually take both 2h and dw, one for single target and one for AoE (dw also has a ranged option in flying blade). What weapons have you used so far?
You should definitely level up crafting. The easiest way to gear up at this level is crafting a set of Hunding's Rage with Ashen Grip or something. Good enough for now, you can't or shouldn't get the best sets until you're v14 anyway. Like Xendyn said, save your Gold keys from pledges.

    Thanks

I have no idea how to even begin crafting though - I know how to deconstruct items but that's about it - Do I need to get to a certain crafting level before I can make hundlings rage

You're looking at a lengthy period of time to attempt Hundings. With research time for craft maxed, the 6th trait takes a little over 5 days. You need six traits to craft that set.

Start with Ashen grip where you only need two traits researched. Then maybe save some money and try to buy some hundings while you're spending a long time researching.

So the hundlings set is tradeable and I can actually buy it from some one ?
  • turbonights
All crafted sets are tradeable. If you're on console, it'll be a bit more difficult to find someone who can craft the set. Unless you started researching and quick leveling crafts really early, mostly PC transfers would be the ones capable of crafting the set. And without a decent venue for looking for merchants who can do such a thing, it's a bit difficult to find.

Thanks - I think I'd prefer to buy a set rather than craft one myself

I'll take a look to see if I can find anyone capable of it

You are still 2 thirds away from max level,so there is absolutely no need to worry about gear and endgame for a while yet :D

Just keep on keeping on...at some point you probably will hit the top :D

First, if you're going stamina DPS (2H + DW) then medium armor would be your best bet. I would throw on one piece of light and one of heavy too, just to level those up. I wouldn't worry about crafting your own sets at this point, or wasting gold on buying anything. Hundings Rage and Ashen Grip are both good sets for stamina DPS, but your really won't need them yet. Just gear up with the things you find in your travels, they will be sufficient.

As for crafting, start researching traits. Go to a "clothing table" in a nearby large town and click over to the research tab. If you're looking at running medium armor you may as well start researching traits for that first then. At the black smith anvil you can research traits for 2H and DW items.

I would assume if you hit level 50 you have completed the main quest line, so Caldwells Silver should now be open for you. Follow the very sparse instructions there and start your next journey into another factions quest line.

Also recommend that you head to your factions "Capital" to start doing pledges. They're quests that are given out daily to complete certain dungeons. They give undaunted XP which levels the undaunted skill line, as well as gives you bronze, silver or gold keys. You can only obtain gold keys from doing the vet pledge and following the quests second objective. It'll tell you exactly what needs to be done to obtain the gold key, don't mess it up! As the gold keys are really the only ones worth while. Don't turn them in either, wait until you're VR14 or VR16 to use them.

So begins the quest for VR14. Good luck, and don't forget, it'll be over eventually.

I have another question in regards to my gear pieces

Should I be stacking stamina only
