Night Blade (NB) Tank and DPS spec

Hi Guys,

I've just started to explore the ESO world on the PS4. I notice that I really enjoy playing the Nightblade class. With me reaching level 10, the first dungeons are open and I started reading into my options of Healing/Tanking as a nightblade.
As a redgaurd stamina nightblade I don't think healing is a preferred option. And I want to level a breton templar for that sole purpose in the near future.

Back to the reason of this topic:
There are a billzillion skills in this game.. and every skill can be morphed into two different options >FacePalm<..
Therefore I want to know from you guys if it is possible to spec both (stam) tank as well as (stam) DPS for a nightblade. Without any concessions on either side. Apart from that I want to be a woodworker, clother, blacksmith and provisioner on this character.

Will this all be possible on 1 character  ?

Thanks for the reply!

it might be? but will require alot of extra work with gathering skyshards and the sorts. I am no expert on this game yet but I will say this! you can surely level everything so at end game you have alot of options and then you can just carry the armor and weapons you will need and just re spec to the role.

I would wait for someone whom is more experienced to reply though lol

You can do it, just need the gear along with the skill points to do so. I have a VR8 Wood Elf Nightblade I use for Tanking in group dungeons and Solo DPS for questing. Skill Points are going to be what makes you able to spec both then the gear.

I have a v4 bosmer nightblade with exactly what you wanted. Im max in clothier, blacksmithing, woodworking and provisioning. You will havr more than enough skill points if you take all the skyshards you can find, do all the main story questlines, fighter guild amd mages guild questlines, public and group dungeon questlines

The trick for the crafting tree is not to take all of the passives. I take only keen eye ( which helps with finding resource nodes) and the passive that allows you to research two items at one time. However, I do recommend you to focus solely on one main crafting profession and dump all excess points into that rather than spread yourself thin. This helps much with leveling and also your need to be both a tank and a dps.

Choosing redguard and going stamina goes to show that you are embarking on the right route. Do note though, tanking requires a more hybrid stat than a full stamina dps so in this I recommend this stats:

2 health for every 3 stamina.
Craft two sets of armor, one for dps the other for tanking.
For dps, enchant all armor with stamina.
For tanking, enchant your chest, pants and shield with health, the rest with magicka. Alternatively if you find that your health is slightly higher than your stamina, you can mix and match the enchants so the ratio of magicka:health:stamina becomes 1:2:3.

One of the reasons why magicka is important is that you want to have some self sufficiency in case your group gets in trouble and the healer is down. Double take, Swallow soul, sap essence, all the while deep slash and refreshing path will help maintain your health while the group picks it up again or your healer is being revived.

As for dps, ambush, killers blade, surprise attack will be more than enough for you to level and go in groups. These are the stamina morphs that even as a tank, you can use for utility and extra dps. I use a 2hander even on reg dungeons for brawler tanking with sap essence for groups. Coupled with killer's blade and inner fire you can maintain aggro on beefy mobs while helping the group with dps.

    Hope this helps!

While the above video is a awesome tank i feel it's very much dependant on CP's. Maybe doable without the CP's, but it won't be anywhere near as effective.

Being a master crafter on your main character is doable with enough skill points but remember to collect ALL skyshards and complete all quests that give skill points as rewards.
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.
