Catching rare fish?

Hello,

does anyone knows anyone who caught some rare fish for achievement? I have been trying to fish rare Eltheric Grouper and I had no luck for 2 days already.. Somewhere I have read that fishing was levelable or exp. related but that did not confirmed to me anyhow

Any hints, pls?

Try different bait. Some of the books in the game mention different baits to try in certain areas of water to catch bigger fish..

to increase the chance of catching rare fish there must be multiple people fishing at the hole at once. that's how it works

Well, twice I caught the rare Bleakrock fish, and the game never gave me credit for the achievement. So who knows how many achievements are bugged.

I wouldn't worry about achievements right now, if I were you.

That happened to me, too. Didn't realize there was an achievement for it when I fished up two in quick succession, but couldn't find them in my bag shortly after fishing the fishing hole dry. =P

I encountered this bug several times during the last 2 beta weekends. I must have caught about 10 of the rare blue fish for the achievement, but it would never deposit them in my inventory. I /bug reported it a couple of times but it looks like this is not one they got around to fixing before launch.

I caught 3 rare fish all alone in one spot around Auridon, never received any achievement either. I still have them on me but not sure if I am supposed to keep them or sell them?

You have to loot the fish for them to count.

Read this (LINK) guide if you are going for the Master Angler achievement.

EDIT: Here is an overview of the fish in each zone. Remember to use the right bait!

You don't get achievements for individual fish except on the starter islands which have only one rare fish each. Normal zones have achievements for catching all 12 rare fish. You can sell them once you've caught them, they already registered in your journal.
