Dragon Knight guide

I did a search for Dragon Knight, Dragon and Knight and it came back with nothing found. But I'm getting plenty of hits for Templar and nightblade

Anyways, is there a guide for Dragon Knights, even on another website? Google keeps taking me to some $30 book to buy. I've found some odds and ends information about going with 2 heavy-5 light armor and other basic suggestions, but I'm looking for more information on what people are doing.

Part of this come from the fact I'm starting veterans rank and it seems to be a little tougher than expected. Wondering if I should be looking at all heavy build, glyphing health or sticking with a magicka focused build. Neither feel all that different from the other, which makes me wonder if I'm missing something

Note, I'm mostly focusing on melee DPS, solo leveling\grinding.

Thanks for any pointers

I did the same thing and like you couldn't find anything. I just randomly started looking for helpful info and found out most people are abbreviating. I did a search for"DK" and several threads popped up. Haven't looked at them yet to see if they will help my so far clueless build.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Go with the two suggestions above. When I started I did the book thing and it is now outdated and the two websites suggested above are much better sources.

Stick with Magicka DK, it's arguably the highest DPS in the game.

Check out @TehMagnus DEVO DK here

and if you have questions after on how to incorporate these things at your level feel free to ask me anytime. A lot of these guides are geared towards v14 and not leveling.

    For a DK tank.
What would everyones thoughts be on the attributes?

In the beta lowbie for ps4 my stats looked like (i think) 15 health / 5 magk / 5 stam or something similar

But i've read that i should just pump most into health first and make up the rest with gear.
    Is that true?

Deltia says on twitter to mix it up a bit - but not to much.

Anyone here help with the attributes?

I have an Orc DK and when I tank endgame content I aim for 30k HP, 20k Mag and 16k Stam.
I run Hist Bark which makes the 16k stam last a long time.... It looks like a lot of magicka, but trust me, you'll need it as a DK tanking end game.

Ok thanks, @PhatGrimReaper what about your points early-game do you pump them into health more than anything else?
Or would you try and mix it up?

My plan is to sword and board until i level that out then play with the rest.

I would probably have an even mix of health & magicka until you unlock dragon blood for the self heals, after that you can move to more magicka.

    @PhatGrimReaper Ok thank you.

Do you know why when i watch videos, look at guides etc people mainly never add any attribute points into stamina?
Is there a reason why people don't?

It's a combination of peoples Race and Gear for the most part...
In my case, I have an Orcish DK, so 6% more stam & HP from racial passives... I use Hist Bark for the dodge chance, less hits taken = less stam drain from blocking.... I run Defensive Stance which passively reduces the cost of blocking while blocking more damage.... And I use Igneous Shield for the Damage Shield which procs the Helping Hands Passive in the Earthen Heart skill line which replaces Stam.... Add tri stat food and tri stat potions into the mix and I get 16k Stam that never runs out.

I find it's really important to have more than just tonnes of health while tanking, my most important resource is actually Magicka.... so, every point I don't have to put into HP or Stam is a point I can put into having more magicka and more magicka = more survivability.

    Hope that answers your question.

Right so i'm at VR4 nearly 5. on my Imperial DK

What i've done so far is craft my own gear at VR1 - just normal stuff at blue/green and picked up some purples from dungeons etc for now.

I am sitting at 21k health, 16k magicka and i forget stamina its about 11k but all stats are buffed with food.
But i want to start specialsing properly at VR5

I need to know what i should looking at doing to specialise / respec. @PhatGrimReaper

For attributes do you think i should put them all into magicka and then use enchants/gear to make up health and stam?

What should i do to make the tank work? I am currently at the crossroads of VR5 and would really appreciate some more advice, like if this was you, what woukd your initial attributes look like (magicka/stam/health) then gear wise/glyphs you would be using health stam and magicka?

I find magicka simply a bit harder to manage right now.

For glyphs, I always have at least one Stam and it's always on my shield (infused).
As a DK magicka is hugely important for mitigation and CC so, yeah you need a lot of it... I have never played an Imperial, but I believe the Health buff is fairly large so you could possibly get away with all of your Atts' into magicka.
If you find you die too easily, you may need to rethink....

With the Imperial passives, you will easily have enough stam with only one or two glyphs on armor.

Another option is to put more Atts' into HP and run the 5 Piece seducer set OR put all your Atts' into magicka and still run seducer for a really large pool of magicka.

As long as you have 25k ish health and you aren't running low on stamina during fights, then the rest is for magicka

    Lemme know how you go

Ok appereciate all the help. @PhatGrimReaper
I think for the vr5 level i will try all magicka and put just a few into health rather than to much a mix of attrib's.

End of the day if my magicka is there, i can use it alot. I use stamina but nowhere near out of it, ever.
The great thing bout the game is i can respec for gold, alot of mmo's these days make you pay real money.
If something doesn't work i can change it.

Alot of people say hist bark is the bees knees but is it anymore? I will look at the seducer set though however i like a 5 heavy 2 light setup myself and i think seducer is medium? i have all armours to 50 anyway.

So far I am a level 24 DK. From what I read, to be a tank, I needed to dump a lot of points in health and put the others on the blackburn. I seem to run out of stamina most, and occasionally magika. I do not use food or potions very often. Is that the key I seem to be missing? Or should I actually be putting more points into what I seem to be running out of?

    Thanks

I wouldn't worry about food/drink/potions too much at lvl24 unless you have it readily available. As you level up, unlock new passives and get better gear your resource management gets easier.

Green Dragon Blood (morph of Dragon Blood from the Draconic Power line) will help with Stam regen. Also, the Earthen Heart passives Helping Hands and Battle Roar help a lot with managing your resources.
