Enough with these invisible NPCs!

This is the third time in an hour I've had to quit out of the game due to invisible NPCs/enemies! It's ridiculous! This patch can't come soon enough.....

I know, I've had to reboot the game 4 times in the past hour just to see quest NPCs.

I got killed by an invisible NPC 3 times ffs, normally I wouldn't mind, but it meant I had to start right back to where I started

8 days i have not been able to play, and when I, not Zenimax, figure out how to finally play, ALL of the npcs i need to talk to a invisible, this is seriously ridiculous. After all the emails, and no response, i would like to know the address of where i can send this PoS game back to, cause i am done, they have done nothing to make me want to keep playing...

I have this problem but it isn't as pervasive as you guys make it out to be. It happens I'd say every couple hours or so. Usually its a vendor and I can just get by. Last night however, I had a dungeon quest NPC that was invisible and I supposedly had to talk to them to advance the quest. Since I was healing, I did my team a solid and finished it out. Luckily, the quest updated and at the end of the dungeon I was able to quit and start the game back up and the NPC was visible then, so I got my reward + skill point.

This definitely needs to be a priority in terms of patches though. It can't come soon enough imo

It isn't as pervasive FOR YOU. For some of us it is happening within five minutes of restarting the console over and over and over.

Another day, another problem... second time today I've had to log off due to invisible NPCs and enemies... time to go play something else.

It is getting pretty ridiculous. It doesn't happen to NPC's for me very often, but I'm constantly having invisible enemies, making it impossible sometimes to complete quests.

One of the harder early dungeons was nearly impossible for me, but luckily I was main healer. While I couldn't see the enemies I was able to heal friendlies. I just couldn't loot bodies or do any damage. Only by pure luck I was able to see the final boss.

It was funny too, because my Wife and I were both playing on different xbox/screens, so on her screen I could see everything, but on mine all enemies were missing.

When exactly does this patch come out?

Hey everyone. As @ZOS_GinaBruno mentioned in a separate thread, the issue of invisible NPCs on consoles will be improved with the patch happening this week. The banner at the top of the forums indicates the exact times the maintenance for this patch will be occurring for each console.

Glad there is a patch for it
Everytime in Auridon when I try to go into Bewan to discover the icon so it appears white on my map, all the NPC's/enemies are invisible... Never had any trouble with invisible characters only that place! Lol

Ugh... So much time has passed since PC launch and so much delay has happened to make console happen. I can't believe there are game breaking bugs such as these occurring on such a regular basis.

People say things like "but it's not game breaking" to which I'd respond to by reminding them that invisible enemies are attacking me and quest lines cannot be handed in - which yeah is exactly game breaking.

or they would say " these things are expected in a launch" to which I'd reply stating that launch was a very long time ago and the console version has had plenty of time to be worked on, I'd also ask the question in return - what kind of QA testing do they have if these issues aren't known before launch. If it was known, it should never have been launched that's for sure, if it wasn't known, well again with the QA question.

I also saw snide comments on other forums such as "it's getting patched today so no need to panic". To this I agree, and I'm not panicking. But I'm annoyed. I pay for ESO plus (I know, probably not my best decision) and I can only play certain times, it really bugs me that I paid for the PC title and subscription back then, it never worked as intended... I paid for a console version, which was promised to perform better and a subscription as well... and again game breaking issues.

Finally someone wants to ask after reading this "why are you playing it if it annoys you so much?" - Quite simply I really really really want ESO to work out for me that I keep coming back to check if it has improved. I want so badly for this title to be at it's full potential, because if it were then I'd be a happy gamer indeed. But it's not - hence my rant.
  • chino_gaming
Actually - the funny thing is... if they launched ESO originally without so many game breakers ( I remember back to everyone's bank items and space upgrades disappearing and people losing hours of progression) then the subscription probably would have been able to stand and gamers would very much have been ok to pay it, but it's arrogant to believe they'll still pay it when a game is just not functioning right.

For issues with invisible NPCs on Xbox one i have found that if you delete your saved data from your console for ESO and then log back in the NPCs are visible. Hope this helps.
